ownertype: walang kinalaman po ang bilis ng remittance ng CC ang surcharge. That % is what the CC charges the client per purchase and the shop just transfers that cost to you the customer.

clarification lang po, so why does other commercial establishments that major honor credit card doesn't have the surcharge?

OT: Kasi yung presyo nila already accounts for the charge, like SM or Rustan's. But notice when they go on sale, usually they will say something like "10% discount on cash, 5% discount on card purchase."

Some establishments actually do it the other way around... "Discount for cash buyers" or "Regular Price vs. Cash Price". (Abenson and Automatic Centre are some examples.)
