Hi,

Brand new vehicles come out with the ever famous factory orange peel.

The cure to this is wet sanding, BUT OEM coats are very thin and risk of sanding through clear is very high. You might answer, bring it to the expert, BUT the thing is, given that this is a thin OEM coat, you loose a few mils of protection by removing further an already thin protection.

Is it alright to top this OEM clear with an aftermarket clear just to give additional "buffer" for wet sanding? The aim is to remove orange peel.
