Re-painting Toyota Crown, need help..

Good day po mga sirs & ma'ams,

Newbie lang po.. and newbie rin pagdating sa cars.. ^_^

May plan po kasi ako na ipa-repaint (same color) yung '96 Toyota Crown Royale Saloon ng ermat ko. Pagandahin na rin in general..

Ano pa ba yung mga things to remember? questions to asks? Marami kasi akong hindi alam na terms like hilamos, wash-over, strip-to-metal, etc.. Ano ba difference nila?

And kung may mai-rerecommend din kayo within parañaque area..

any visible signs of rusts and parang buko bukol sa body? kung meron, strip to metal ito.
kung faded lang naman, and since you will be using the same color, hilamos na lang. mas mura pa.

Thanks sir sa input.. Meron akong napansin sa bandang taas sa pagitan ng windshield and window sa driver side and the rest wala na..

Ano po ba difference ng hilamos sa strip-to-metal?

Gusto ko sana maibalik yung brand new condition nya kahit paano.. Hindi ba maaapektuhan yung chrome part pag pina-strip-to-metal ko?

Any more inputs mga sirs and ma'ams? Meron po bang trusted shops within parañaque.. specifically, sa Valley 1 banda.. anyone?

pag hilamos, normally, the first top three coats lang ang nilalagay. and they are put over the original coat.

pag strip to metal. is-is yan up to the innermost lata. tapos papatungan ng around 7 to 8 coats.

sa strip to metal, impurities like rusts, bubbles, etc are removed tapos minamasilya.

How much dun sa nabanggit nyo sir? Yung affordable sana pero pulido yung gawa..

Mas prefer ko sana within Parañaque para mabisita ko and ng Tito ko habang ginagawa..

dagadag lang na tanong, meron bang contract or documents pinipirmahan ang painter at ang car owner once ipasok ang auto sa car shop. o iyon na iyong job order where you can specify the details of your agreement w/ the shop?

commonly wala.. pero i suggest you ask one. nabiktima na ko nyan dati, kasi minsan they offer extras sa gagawin nila, pero nde magdedeliver sa promise unless may dagdag. based on experience to sa Nissan B12 ko. sabi nung nagpastrip to metal ako, kasama minor repairs, tapos nung lata na cia, sabi, marami raw pala ung rusted areas kaya may dagdag. ayun.. hostage na nia ko. kaya i ended adding 5K more, tapos nde sinama undercoat na pramis ren niang kasama sa JO. nakarma naman cia, kasi after 2 years, sarado na shop nia. sa may mercedes ave. to sa Pasig, near area ng GE.

anyway, just ask the painter to write down all agreed upon items na gagawin, like kasama na ba sealing ng mga windows, palit ng mga nuts and bolts etc. also, have him write down, expected release date para nde itengga if maraming tanggap sa shop nia.

yun ren, it's really better na malapit sa yo kasi dapat mo ren talagang bantayan. kasi ung aken, ang daming kulang ng turnilyo sa wheel well, sa chin etc.. sobrang bad trip.

also check mo ren if may oven ung papapinturahan mo. kasi, kahit summer ngaun, if malamigan yan on unexpected showers, magbu-bubbles yun. sayang.

the standard practice is the job order, but you can ask for one specifically made between you and the shop. detail mo dun kung ano mga dapat gawin and ilagay plus warranties. dapat clear lahat.
