TUASON AUTO PAINT TECHNOLOGY, INC or TAPTI was established in June, 1997. It is the offspring of a previous company called ARTHUR TUASON AUTO DEVELOPMENTS, INC. the same company from whose humble beginnings as an English Ford hi performance tuner evolved as a franchised Ford Rallye Sport dealer. It later on (in 1991) revolutionized the car refinishing industry when it introduced its patented hi-technology auto paint refinishing system and products (the 2K Auto Paint system), the result of which was a durable, high gloss car refinish and an invisible repair for damaged car panels.

Because of its seemingly wet finish, the company eventually came to be known as THE WET LOOK.

    Services

    Automobile Refinishing

This includes full respray, washovers and change of color. Customers wanting to change the color of their cars have a wide selection of Solid, Metallic, Pearlescent and Special Effect colors to choose from. THE WET LOOK has more than a hundred thousand OEM (Original Equipment Manufactured) documented colors from all major car manufacturers including Alfa Romeo, BMW, Mercedes Benz, Honda, Nissan, Toyota, Lexus, Ferrari, Mitsubishi, Jaguar, Volkswagen, Audi, etc. The customer simply has to look at our library of color swatches; once the color selection is finalized, THE WET LOOK will then mix that color in its own mixing room using the exact formula for that color from its microfiche containing a database of more than 100,000 colors.

The work duration, from disassembly, denting, substrate preparation, sanding, masking, spraying, color sanding, buffing, assembly and polishing is determined by the extent of denting and condition of the existing paint. Normally, cars with slight dents and minor scratches take 8 to 10 days for a washover and 10 to 12 days for a change color.

    Collision and Panel Repairs

Repaired panels are sprayed with color matched basecoat and 2K clear coating following correct repair procedures. The newly sprayed paint will then blend in with the original finish for an invisible repair. Work duration is determined by the extent of damage; normally, a car with an average of 4 damaged panels takes about 4 to 5 days to repair and paint.

    Ancillary Services

Exterior detailing, minor interior detailing, minor mechanical and electrical works and automobile airconditioning is also done at THE WET LOOK.

    Warranties

Respray - Twenty four (24) months limited warranty

Repairs - Six (6) months limited warranty

This auto paint shop did my car about 3 mos. ago.

My car is picture # 18 of 70.

Mr Raul, Babe's and their kuya Danny supervised the job on my car like as their own. Having my confidence with the brother's business, they took care of it and was really thankful for a damn good job. I even saw them worked on the detailing themselves before releasing my car. My car paint that looks like an old taxi before has been restored to an even good looking car than a brand new one. It's mirror finish impressed our car club members and most of the car paintshops that I know of. Even my neighbors are amazed on the transformation of my old Mitsubishi Lancer.

I congratulate the three brother's and all the staff of Tuason Auto Paint Technology, Inc for an excellent job.

Sir am just curious, did they put wax you your newly painted car? Or they just polished it? AFAIK, you have to wait 2 to 3 mos before waxing a newly painted car to allow it to cure.

After the painting process is done, I think they used a polishing compound for the top coat finish. I heard also from other paint shops and detailers like Meguire's that it is not recommended to apply waxes for about four to six months to let the top coat dry and cure. And also not to use car cover. But you can use a liquid type polish compound instead. I don't really know if this is true as this is my first time experience on polyurethane paints. I inquired with the "wet look" if I can use waxes, but unfortunately recommended polish compound instead for the mean time. I just use a car shampoo to clean my cars exterior. Some experts even told me not to use waxes for a while since the polishing compound used by the shop is an industrial type that lasts for a long time (just don't know how long and how true is this). From too much excitement when I got the car, I already bought three kinds of waxes for my car paints protection. 3M's liquid wax, Cyclone metallic finish polish and turtle wax carnauba but haven't used any yet. Please comment and advice,if any; re: hands on experience on polyurethane (Max Mayer Paint). Thanks.

Tama advise nila. Don't wax your car just yet. Wait 2 or 3 months for the paint to cure. What paint did they use?
