December 24th, 2009 04:58 PM #4and brotherly advice, after painting your vehicle please refrain from washing your vehicles. Just wipe your vehicles with pranela soaked in water then pigain. Through this method you'll prevent rusting of your vehicles.
I've been doing this for more than 20 yrs na. Take note preserved ang pagkalata ng mga sasakyan nmin po.

October 4th, 2015 09:37 PM #6My ride got some rust and i don't have a budget for a paint job right now. Is it ok to use wd40 and wipe it off?

wd40 will just evaporate and offer only temporary protection.
you already got the answer right here in the thread, RUST CONVERTER. meron nyan sa hardware like wilcon or handyman, o kahit sa ordinary hardware stores. ask mo lang rust converter. one of the popular brands is OSPHO RUST CONVERTER. chip mo lang ng konti yung rust pag masyado na makapal pero pag manipis lang naman hindi na needed i-chipping. apply a liberal amount of the rust comverter and wait maybe 1 hour. the rust will turn black in color. the iron oxide (rust. FeO2) becomes converted to ferous sulphate (FeSO3) which is a very hard, anti rust coating. huwag mo na gagalawin pag naging black na kasi yung black coating na yun ang mag-prevent ng rust. wash with plain water after. tapos na wala ka na problema sa rust.

Totally agree here. WD stands for "water displacing" and its main use is as a solvent or rust dissolver. it can help to clean up rust but not solving the problem. just follow the above mentioned instructions and your car will be good as b/new. LOL

October 5th, 2015 01:56 PM #9Kimbon, Yebo,
Salamat sa payo. I thought that rust converters be applied, with a full-blown paint job afterwards. I'll do the rust control DIY, as a save up for the paint job.

I don't have an Innova sorry. In some engines they can have as many as 3 including the timing belt.
