reapplication of clear coat?

hi,

i was just wondering, is it alright to top off an exisiting urethane clear coat with another clear coat?

i just thought of it kasi para merong ma knock down ng buffer kapag nanipis na yung existing clear

im no expert pero i think it better to get rid of the old top/clear coat then apply double or triple coat.

IMO, it would not bond well kung papatungan lang.
