These are also called optitron gauges which are stock gauges from my '03 honda civic.

mmm... its not the same with the optitron gauges in a corolla altis. In the Altis, you can't see anything when the engine is off as in blank - needle, speedometer, etc.

Yes, I remember now. I've seen those too. Those gauges from the Altis really look awsome. I wish I can have those gauges on my V too.

White with the bright red needle.

AFAIK 1.8 Altis (G and E) and 2.0G and up Camry ang may 'optitron meter cluster'. Pag 'on' mo ng ignition saka lang sya ililaw, in 'off' position, you barely see the prints. I think numbers/prints are LED (light emitting diodes??) but the needles are still back-lit. Odo and trip meters are regular LCD with back-light. The trick is, the plastic cover is darkened to 'hide' the gauges when 'off'.

I asked the dealer if they have available parts or replacement when we got our car (I assumed that since it's a new technology - might not last he he), he said they do but will have to be ordered pa (that was 2 years ago btw).

Yup, it looks nice and 'clear' vs the regular green or orange gauges but it tends to fade-out a bit in very bright light (mid-day) esp if your car's not tinted.
