Meron ako naexperience recently. Open parking lang din ako sa bahay kaya I usually use a car cover. One time umulan medyo malakas pero after tumigil rain I need to move the car so i removed the cover dripping wet . Did not bother about the stains resulting from the drops all over the car. kala ko water stain lang pero after I had it car washed, nagulat ako parang chemical stain that eat through the top coat. unbalanced talaga yung surface. Mabuti na lang nakuha pa sa rubbing and buffing. Stop using the car cover muna until I can find out why or have it washed siguro.

^ hence, it is not advisable to use car cover in an open parking area specially during summer...

Nagiisip tuloy ako na baka mas maganda pa kung tolda na lang gamitin. Full shade na walang contact sa car. Problema lang baka yung poles ang gumasgas sa car pag hinangin.

Anong type ng cover ba magandang gamitin po?

Kahit may tint ako its not enough to keep my car cool. Freebie lang eh.
it would be more worth it if you invest in a good car tint with excellent UV protection. its the UV rays that destroys your car interiors. nakabalot nga oto mo, pasok pa din yung UV rays.

    Material design

Dashboards are made to last a lifetime of the vehicle..

Wipers are made to fail after a year or 2. Why make them last forever when you can make money selling refills.

Tire damage from the sun? 😂

Here is a link of car parts testing under the sun without uv protectio from tints...

buhay pa pala itong thread ko, looks like better nga talaga under the sun nalang. the interior naman can be protected by the tint specially with full-manyak tint around. marami kasing cases that can make it worse if it's under the tree, like kanina, di ko inaasahan uulan nung umaga kasi summer na nga, pagstart ko ng wiper, di ko napansin may leaf palang nakasabit, muntik pa magasgas windshield ko.

Got no time to put a car cover since it's my office parking slot and no one ever does that.
parking under the sun is the worst! you can easily removed the dirt on your paint but the damage being done when your park under the scorching sun will be long term. it is easier to clean the paint than have it repaint.

given the two choices lang, i would still opt to park under the sun than under the tree. bird poo is really deadly on the paint... mabilis ang epekto. parking under the sun would still deteriorate your paint, but the effect will be longer. wax lang and sealant, pwede pang matagalan ang deterioration.

worse thing.... parking under the sun also destroys the interior of the car.... lagyan na lang ng magandang sunshade ang front and rears and magbukas na lang ng onti sa windows para makalabas ang init (possible if you have rain gutters).

but if you have the choice, avoid it.... kung wala accept it. ganyan din ang dilemna ko ngayon. we changed parking spaces dahil sobrang hirap dito sa makati.... i was parking in makati cinema square basement (covered), and the company pays my parking expenses.... however, may two slots na nag open dito sa building and i was given one slot. since mainit ang paglalakad from my office to MCS parking (around 800 meters away), i got the slot... di ako pawisan pumapasok and di ako nagkakasakit at the expense of having my car exposed under the sun..... pero ok lang. twice a month ako nagpapa wax and sealant ngayon, invested in a good front carshade (naghahanap pa ako para sa rear), excellent tints, and nagiiwan ako ng uwang sa bintana..... and besides the slot given to me ay mainit lang up to lunch time to 1pm. sa hapon, wala nang init (dahil natatakpan na ng building). i think i can live with it for the meantime, kesa naman pahirapan maglakad going to and from the office to the parking lot.

and besides, we all drive under the sun right? so talagang di maiiwasan na naka expose sa araw ang sasakyan.

    depends on the tree.

    - coconut, absolute no-no.
    - trees with rotted branches.
    - trees with lots of sap, like mango trees, no. especially those trees that are shedding its leaves there is more tendency for sap to ooze from where the leaves fall.
    - tree with lots of fruits/flowers that birds like, no-no pa din. bird poop discolors paint. birds like even the malunggay flowers of our neighbor. after eating, poop. ok lang naman neighbor ko pag binabawasa ko yung malungay sa harap nila. takot siguro sa itak na hawak ko kaya di ako sinasaway.
    - trees with "hantik" ant colony. pag nadikit kahit isang leaf lang pupunta na sa car mo tapos kagatin betlog mo pag nag-drive ka na

    - yes on trees that have fresh leaves so there is less chance the leaves will fall and sap to ooze.
    - trees that do not have much sap, ex. is narra.

under a tree for me if given the option, i trust my "Nu finish the once a year car polish" to do its job...

but since we have a severe condition, i make it twice a year car polish...

    If parking under the sun:
    1. Make sure you put wax/sealant regularly, as often as you can.
    2. Have your windows tinted or put car shade inside the car.

    If parking under a tree;
    1. Make sure you have wax/sealant on your paint. This slightly prevents sap, bird poop, etc. to penetrate the coat. Slightly means, they will damage the paint eventually if you don't remove it right away.
    2. Wash the car frequently. Morning, to remove contaminants accumulated during the night. Evening, to remove contaminants accumulated during the day.

Parking under the sun affects more than just the paint, it also affects the interior, dashboard, tires, wipers, etc.

Yung bird poop, totoo pala na parang acido kung makasira ng paint, experienced ko na din.
