March 9th, 2005 03:57 AM #1wassup again?
im starting a new thread coz this one's a different topic and people might get thrown off.
if you checked out the other thread i made my dad already bought the toyota corolla XL. it was just delivered today and from my test drive, its pretty good! im starting to love it alraedy.
hindi nga sya kasing ganda ng vios pero thats okay with me, im cool with it
anyway, my point in making a new thread is to ask for any ideas you might have on possible customizations i can do. i know keeping it simple is sometimes better, but i really wanna toy with the car to give it a customized feel. para naman mas proud ako pag dala ko sya hehe
im already thinking of the following:
1.) increase rim size
ex: http://memimage.cardomain.net/member...28_99_full.jpg or http://memimage.cardomain.net/member...92_17_full.jpg
note: im wondering if theres such a thing as "2 inch" tires coz the rubber on those are really really thin...
2.) mufflers
3.) a front spoiler
ex: http://memimage.cardomain.net/member...9_184_full.jpg
or http://memimage.cardomain.net/member...46_15_full.jpg
thats all i could think of for now...the main thing i wanna get tho are the tires. in the other thread there were a lot of people saying that my best bet were 15s, but i really wonder...look at the ff pics:
before: http://memimage.cardomain.net/member...29_15_full.jpg
after: http://memimage.cardomain.net/member...29_37_full.jpg
whats the size on the second pic? coz im happy with those kinda rims...
replies will be greatly appreciated!!!!

....i'll keep it simpleng may dating. a good set or rims, drop it then you're good to go. muffler (i assume ur referring to those freeflow noisy types)? nah, just a decent exhaust tip would do. keep it nice and shiny, oks na.
...size of the 2nd pic is 17".

XL bro?
kung ako yan, change mags lang. 15" is ok, stick to the stock muffler. dagdagan mo na lang ng tip like scarab said. and invest in a good sound system setup.

15" or 16"s for the rims are ok. go for the 205 series if you can para macho tignan. By the way the best mod you can do for your ride is upgrading your sound system. Please browse the "Car Electronics" Section and look the the "Audio Setup for Beginners..." thread, you'll find some answers in that thread.

IMO...
go with the 15s... your acceleration would be greatly affected if you slap in 17s (doesn't the XL have a 1.3L engine?)
muffler? try to get a JASMA-spec surplus... costs only around 5K and is rated for a slight HP increase. don't get those generic loud-ass freeflow mufflers, you'll get tired of the sound eventually.
spoiler? hmmm... IMO front spoilers only look good if you already have side & rear skirts...

personally, i'd stay away from body kits (unless OEM) to maintain that clean look. engine swap na yan :evillaugh

Yeah! Engine swap! 3E or 4E-FTE or 4A-GE! Or kung trip mo 3S-GE lipad yan! :evillaugh
Seriously, ano na nga bang stereo na kasama ng XL ngayon? Fujitsu Ten pa rin ba? Palit HU na kaagad yan tapos front separates muna. Then later, sub and 4 ch amp ayos na!
Tapos 16" wheels na 195/50R16 or 205/45R16, H&R lowering tsaka KYB gas types, ayos na!
Ah, sya nga pala walang airbags yan, puwedeng lagyan ng Momo millenium or something simple, basta black and silver lang, sama na rin ang shift knob tsaka pedal, sama mo na rin ang rear lamps and garnish pa-Euro look.
Then leather seats kay Kelseat!
Ayos!
