Just recently bought a California Car Duster after going over the good reviews here. Now, can any tell me how to use it properly?

as much as possible i use it in only one direction, left to right or right to left then shake (for my own purpose) orig CCD is a bit heavy so no need to put pressure on it.

use the duster only when the car's surface is cool. may wax like component kasi mga duster natin (paraffin ata) kaya baka mag leave ng smudges pag mainit pa car surface tapos gamitin agad.

btw, you have to aeriate it on a newspaper for 24 hours or so after removing it from its packaging. may instructions naman po iyan kasama

That's right, the wax that is 'baked' into the fiber is paraffin. Best not to wash it like your conventional P10.00 duster no matter how filthy it looks to you.

CCD does not push the dust around but actually absorbs it and yup, it is better to wipe on one direction then shake it off.

Mine works perfectly for my black car which is a pain-in-the-neck to maintain

btw, has anybody here tried their product called the california jelly blade? i tell you, it's so convenient for those who clean their cars themselves. it'll almost shave off half the time you usually allocate when bathing your ride admittedly, it's a bit pricey, but then again, w/ the convenience it generates, i think it's worth every friggin' centavo

Yeah! It does cut drying time in half.
But i only use that on my wife's silver car. On my black car, I'm a bit scared.... For my black car.. it's traditional waffle weaves pa rin.

is there any indicator when one should replace their duster?
ive forgotten how effective mine was when i first got it, and it seems to me that it is not as efficient lately as it should be.

The trick is to suspend the California Car Duster above the paint surface so the strands are just barely touching the surface.

Don't use it like a mop, and don't apply pressure while using it, for doing so will cause marring on the paint.

    Hope this helps.
