So which one is better? In terms of service and materials used (wax, etc...)

I actually use Big Bert's paint protection service before and once in a while. The boss at Araneta branch also removed serious paint transfer scratch on my bumper with results that is worth every peso I paid for. In other words, I'm very satisfied with Big Bert's. Their Araneta branch is where I go to because it is closer to my location.

I haven't tried Hillsborough Detailers yet. From what little I gather from the forums, they are charge quite high, friendly owner and staffs, are located quite far for me (Libis, Eastwood) and etc...

I'm interested to hear more about Hillsborough.

tagal na sila wala sa buendia they moved it at magallanes.

for me hillsborugh, i used to go at big bert's but when i heard about hillsborough i went there and had my car washed by them. i liked their service although a bit more expensive than most detailers their service is worth it. their crew are very friendly and helpful unlike other detailers. they do great at washing your car and very very anal, para bang sila din ang owner ng car talagang lahat nakikita pag madumi na engine ko nililinis din nila agad at no extra cost and no need to tell them kusa nila ginagawa. wax nila is so much better than all the detailers i've tried talagang napaka kintab ng kotse mo pag tapos at tangal din mga gasgas na kala mo di na matatanggal. exterior detailing ganon din talagang mabibilib ka, interior no idea since haven't tried this yet. also dami mo makakasabay na magagandang sports car with friendly owners lalo na pag may fun run sila daig pa car show sa gaganda ng auto nila. they're the only detailers i let touch my car and i can leave my car and keys with them with out worrying that something might happen to my car or they might use it without my permission.

ano kaya gamit nilang paint sealant = 2,500 ? that's almost double the price of BB = 1,400 using Carlack68

It seems they've been paid to be anal about details. And that's a good thing, assuming you're ok with their rates.

I think it's good that there are different ranges of detailers. Choose the one you can afford, or the one who you think provides the most bang for your hard earned buck.

we are just here but we refrain from posting in these type of threads where our shop is compared to a competitor. We feel it would be unprofessional if we do so. thanks and hope for your understanding.

I've tried both, BB Araneta and Hillsborough Eastwood, and so far I can say na mas sulit sa BB. I haven't really seen a big difference sa quality ng work.

For Php 100 I get a car wash, some light interior vacuuming, and they even wiped the interiors a bit. San ka pa?

Good stance on the matter, bbpd-araneta. Commenting on this thread wouldn't be unprofessional so yes, you may refrain

I usually go to BB Araneta due to their convenience and I haven't gone to Hillsborough due to... well, I don't usually pass Eastwood as from Banawe going to DLSU ako , sometimes just doing a u-turn at the e.rod/sta.mesa intersection and then dropping by BB is very convenient. I used to avail of their detailing services but nowadays puro car wash lang ako. Reasons on why I'll detail later.

When it comes to their practices, walang problema. Everything's checked on my list and the supervisor really goes the extra mile. Extra attention is payed to the gas cap section (most detailers don't) and they even made punas on the area behind my aluminum-pod tweeter. That's attention to detail that would merit a lot of thumbs up!

On the other hand, I'm not a fan of their prices and their selection of waxes at certain times. I also dislike how they rank DuPont waxes on the same as Collinites.. of course, this is nitpicking due to my detailing tendencies: I like to know which wax to use, etc.

I guess my taste upgraded due to my standard 30% discount on Bluemile Detailing's services sa Gilmore.. the traffic in E.Rod is something I'm willing to stomach given cost-savings. Nothing beats getting a wash, clay, KAIO + KSG at just 1,200php nor is 800php equals wash, clay, Collinite Sapphire + 845. So unless may discount na ako sa products (hirit hirit!), I don't think I'll look back. Quality wise, BB still reigns supreme.. but given a few trips all the while teaching the boys there how to properly apply pressure on the cleaner wax, I'm more than satisfied na now.

Hmm, wanna try Hillsborough tuloy. Umulan pa naman tonight.. hmm...

    Follow-up:

I also dislike detailing shops that charge me extra on LSP toppers. By far this isn't rare as both Genki in Banawe and BB in Araneta charges an additional for me to top the car with NanosliQ. But the additional charge is jaw-dropping.. and if memory serves right, BB charges you "waxing" prices (500php) if you would top the nanosliQ (my own bottle) and I forgot how much yun extra sa Genki.

This left a bad taste in my mouth as I'm not the type of person who likes getting charged 400php just for a coat of NanosliQ which I can do at home (or even on the spot using a micofiber cloth). So yes, this is a bit of a rant on my part and I do hope they change their policy regarding this.

Sir, I'm not sure who charged you Php 500 for the nanosliq application. We usually charge an extra Php 100 only for QD application on top of a carwash. Can you PM me your vehicle, plate number and other details? We never charged Php 500 for wash + QD on a small-sized vehicle. We even give that kind of service for free to our loyal clients. We have records to prove that we never charge such an amount for this particular type of service.

I was never charged as the supervisor warned me of the additional cost of the QD. However, whether the charge was an additional 100php or 400php, now that I think about it, I'm not sure. However, I am sure of the additional charge if I would go through the application of the QD.

I would apologize if the charge wasn't 400php. My post now cannot be re-edited to accommodate the additional uncertainty. However, I would still like a policy where wipe-buff QDs were to be applied free-of-charge upon the owner's request.
