i cant help you on the sourcing, but here's the stuff i got for my PC (not included with the unit)

medium cutting pad - for heavier cutting stuff
light cutting pad - for swirl removers
    finishing pad - for polish
(the PC comes with a pad but i didn't use it - i think it's for medium cutting)
extension cord (maikli yung power cord eh)
    extra backing pad
    swirl remover
    polish
    carnauba wax

some people say you should get a counterweight to reduce vibration, but mine works ok for me without it. other people get those quick adapter thingies so you can quickly swap out pads with different products on them, but i don't really need to save the extra 30 secs needed to properly seat a backing pad on the velcro :hihihi:

Ayaw mo ng black and decker KP600? Gusto ko rin sana ng porter cable pero since manggagaling pa sa kapatid ko sa US, kakailanganin pa ng 110V transformer with higher rating… Kaya I just settled for black and decker orbital waxer/polisher. may pambili ka pa ng meguiars

    Don’t burn up your polisher!

Your favorite polisher now has a 16 gauge, 25 ft. power cord! Reach far and wide with the Porter Cable 7424 HD Plus. With a 25 ft. cord, the best dual action polisher just got better. The 16 gauge cord is 2 ½ times the length of the ordinary Porter Cable 7424’s cord. This is not a drop cord – it’s wired into the polisher to deliver maximum power and performance.

FACT: A low gauge indicates a larger cord width, a high gauge indicates a narrower cord. So a 25 ft, 16 gauge cord costs more than a 25 ft, 18 gauge cord. If you use a drop cord, it must be a lower gauge than the cord currently wired into the machine to avoid burning up the motor.

The standard Porter Cable 7424 comes with a 10 ft, 18 gauge power cord. The cord is specific to the power requirements of the polisher. Therefore, the 25 ft cord on the Porter Cable 7424 HD Plus is 16 gauge to maintain the optimum current for optimum performance.

We call this polisher “HD” because of the heavy duty 16 gauge cord. In the world of power cords, a lower gauge equals a thicker cord. The HD Plus model has a 16 gauge cord to give the current a wider path so it can make the 25 ft journey faster.

You will not lose any power by using this longer, thicker cord. Likewise, you will not overpower the machine. You’ll get the same performance you’re accustomed to and you can take it farther!

It’s “Plus” because you get a full 25 feet of cord to work with. The regular Porter Cable 7424 has a 10 ft cord, which keeps you on a short leash. With 25 ft of cord, you can move around any size vehicle more easily. The cord on the PC HD Plus is 2 ½ times the length of the regular 7424’s cord.

Same polisher, new cord. The Porter Cable HD Plus is otherwise the same polisher you know and love. It still has 3.7 amps and all ball bearing construction, plus a variable speed between 2500 and 6000 OPM.

The spiral and bevel gearing provides for smooth operation and efficient transfer of power. The speed dial is on the end of the motor, out of the way, preventing accidental changing of the speed. A handy slide switch prevents hand fatigue when the unit must be run for the extended periods of time that polishing operations require. The random orbit action of the special six-inch polishing pad provides a smooth, swirl-free finish. An included side handle fits either the left or right side for maximum comfort.

With the addition of this 25 ft power cord, this machine is a detailer’s dream. It allows you excellent maneuverability around the vehicle without sacrificing any power.

Yung Porter Cable pala idiot/fool proof ba?

malapit lang sila sa akin, kaya mabilis shipping. chaka very helpful sila on the phone, nagbigay pa ng discount!!

imo the best value is the poorboys package...pero kung marami kang tanong don't hesitate to email them or post on their forum...galing talaga ng customer service nila.

di naman siya "idiot proof" but it's very forgiving. it doesn't generate too much heat so malabo na maka burn-through ka ng pintura. but leave any buffer on a single area for long enough and you will damage the paint.

sa pads, you need the 3 basic: compounding pad, polishing pad, for wax or sealant you can do this by hand or use the appropriate pad or bonnet and an orbital polisher.

sobra naman mahal nito, si MOMSPH alam ko nagbebenta siya, i think 12k ata yun, complete with pads, backing plate and mothers products na, tuturuan ka pa niya gumamit ng tama

dont ever use a rotary polisher unless you are very skilled at detailing, it will do you more harm

the best is to use a ORBITAL polisher, like the Porter Cable 7424, its newbie friendly

still the best is if you can source it from the US, it would be much cheaper
