i cant help you on the sourcing, but here's the stuff i got for my PC (not included with the unit)

medium cutting pad - for heavier cutting stuff
light cutting pad - for swirl removers
    finishing pad - for polish
(the PC comes with a pad but i didn't use it - i think it's for medium cutting)
extension cord (maikli yung power cord eh)
    extra backing pad
    swirl remover
    polish
    carnauba wax

some people say you should get a counterweight to reduce vibration, but mine works ok for me without it. other people get those quick adapter thingies so you can quickly swap out pads with different products on them, but i don't really need to save the extra 30 secs needed to properly seat a backing pad on the velcro :hihihi:

Ayaw mo ng black and decker KP600? Gusto ko rin sana ng porter cable pero since manggagaling pa sa kapatid ko sa US, kakailanganin pa ng 110V transformer with higher rating… Kaya I just settled for black and decker orbital waxer/polisher. may pambili ka pa ng meguiars

    Don’t burn up your polisher!

Your favorite polisher now has a 16 gauge, 25 ft. power cord! Reach far and wide with the Porter Cable 7424 HD Plus. With a 25 ft. cord, the best dual action polisher just got better. The 16 gauge cord is 2 ½ times the length of the ordinary Porter Cable 7424’s cord. This is not a drop cord – it’s wired into the polisher to deliver maximum power and performance.

FACT: A low gauge indicates a larger cord width, a high gauge indicates a narrower cord. So a 25 ft, 16 gauge cord costs more than a 25 ft, 18 gauge cord. If you use a drop cord, it must be a lower gauge than the cord currently wired into the machine to avoid burning up the motor.

The standard Porter Cable 7424 comes with a 10 ft, 18 gauge power cord. The cord is specific to the power requirements of the polisher. Therefore, the 25 ft cord on the Porter Cable 7424 HD Plus is 16 gauge to maintain the optimum current for optimum performance.

We call this polisher “HD” because of the heavy duty 16 gauge cord. In the world of power cords, a lower gauge equals a thicker cord. The HD Plus model has a 16 gauge cord to give the current a wider path so it can make the 25 ft journey faster.

You will not lose any power by using this longer, thicker cord. Likewise, you will not overpower the machine. You’ll get the same performance you’re accustomed to and you can take it farther!

It’s “Plus” because you get a full 25 feet of cord to work with. The regular Porter Cable 7424 has a 10 ft cord, which keeps you on a short leash. With 25 ft of cord, you can move around any size vehicle more easily. The cord on the PC HD Plus is 2 ½ times the length of the regular 7424’s cord.

Same polisher, new cord. The Porter Cable HD Plus is otherwise the same polisher you know and love. It still has 3.7 amps and all ball bearing construction, plus a variable speed between 2500 and 6000 OPM.

The spiral and bevel gearing provides for smooth operation and efficient transfer of power. The speed dial is on the end of the motor, out of the way, preventing accidental changing of the speed. A handy slide switch prevents hand fatigue when the unit must be run for the extended periods of time that polishing operations require. The random orbit action of the special six-inch polishing pad provides a smooth, swirl-free finish. An included side handle fits either the left or right side for maximum comfort.

With the addition of this 25 ft power cord, this machine is a detailer’s dream. It allows you excellent maneuverability around the vehicle without sacrificing any power.

I think the KP600 is okay for practicing. But it may not be practical in the long run. The KP600 is meant to be just for wax application and removal. With a little patience, you may be able to extend its use for minor defect removal, but that's about it. Give or take a couple of months, your practice will be done. Then you'll want to graduate to a more powerful Dual Action Polisher (or if you're brave enough, a Rotary Polisher)... sayang lang ginastos mo sa KP600.

Oh, since you're talking about PADS -- the KP600 does not accept pads. It only accepts bonnets. However, if you're really committed to the KP600, you may modify the back plate by attaching velcro tape. This will allow you to attach 6" pads to your KP600. But again, at best, you will only be able to do minor defect removal with this setup.

You can buy pads from HANS TOOLS at Shangri-La mall.

Wax -- Blade, True Value, ACE.

Sir ok yan for practice and light to medium swirl removal. Yan din gamit ko with Yellow LC cutting pad at m80 & m83 pang tanggal ng swirls. Mas matagal nga lang yung pag buffing time compared sa mga variable speed pero effective naman.

*Jmpet626: so far i haven't found any other store selling rotary buffers locally and so i guess kp600 is the closest match for a ROP compared to 7424xp thats why im getting my 7424xp from the US, why not try the wp1300 cheap BnD buffer and fit it with a specialized backing plate for BnD? i got mine for just a total of 4300 bucks and started practicing on used paint panels sold at a local impound near my place. each panels costs around 150 to 300 bucks only and so far im liking my results
