January 23rd, 2010 05:04 PM #3281Yeah, by looking at your Innova dun sa post mo sa previous page, I'm sure kahit langgam madudulas dun sa surface ng paint mo
. I bought my QD at BB for 150 pesos nung time na nagpa car paint protection ako, ok naman 1 month palang un ride ko and 3x ko palang na car wash and I still have more than half nung bottle, but when I saw moms showtime ok na rin yung price nya less than 600 pesos, and to think na malaki un container ng moms siguro after ko maubos yung QD ng BB I'll go for the Showtime. I have microtex duster, and I used it everyday because grabe talaga wind and dust sa place namin, 2 weeks after ko makuha un car saka palang ako naka buy ng ok na car cover, kaya gamit na gamit talaga, sadly madumi na ito and I don't know if there's a way to clean it, or better siguro buy new duster head.

mga gurus, pa-assess naman if i'm missing something integral sa cleaning routine ko sa car.
Daily: wash ng plain water (no shampoo) to get rid of dust and dirt from home to workplace and back. microtex duster the car at night before leaving the office.. pang-gabi kasi ako.
Weekends: full wash with Microtex Shampoo with Washmitts sa body, and Armor-all glass cleaner and Newspaper sa glass
Every other weekend(twice a month): Weekend routine plus TW Platinum wax (liquid). One coating sa buong body except sa hood which gets double coats.
Monthly: Armor-all protectant sa dashboard, sidings and rubber trims.
tamad na kong magQD kaya i dont have it sa regular routine. masama rin ba ung araw araw na wash with water? nakakatanggal ba ng wax kung water lang? dumi kasi lagi pag-uwe.
thanks po.

dusted off naman po muna ung buong car with microtex duster to take off the loose dirt. then hose the body with mashmitts.. kaya lang naman yaw ko mag shampoo kasi baka magshorten ng life ng wax... plus minsan nakakatamad
so far, la naman scatches from this method for me. marami ako mga kudlit ang scratch dahil sa mga engot na walang pakielam na dumadaan, nakakatabi sa parking lot and mga bato sa C-5! grrr!

January 24th, 2010 02:49 AM #3287*jmpet626: yes it can be removed, it will be leveled using compound + wool pad and a polish + orange pad, if you are not too specific with the looks and if you can leave this, then i would recommend you leave the orange peels, see a tip i got from Alec, the owner of simex/megs phil., is that one of their basis to check if the paint still has clear coat is if it has orange peels. another thing that he told me was that removing orange peels would mean removing a considerable amount of clear coat just to level the clear coat surface. And if you are planning on removing the orange peels on your Jazz then another thing to note would be that even though Honda has one of the best shiniest and glossiest paint in all Japanese cars today, its also the one with the thinnest paint. Sir Paul of BB told me that he had a customer that had his Civic detailed twice for exterior detailing and the paint on the corners of the doors was already gone, its that thin, so they always try to refrain from using compounds as much as possible and just try to remedy it using repeated applications of polishes to remove only whats needed, but the good thing about Honda paint is, its really glossy and its colors are deep so that could really improve on the looks of the paint. If you have your PC already you could try to use some polishes to remedy the orange peels, you could polish it to the point of just making it look not too wavy this way you save more clear coat in the process.

January 24th, 2010 02:57 AM #3288*chickselog: ah yeah i know that one, that will work fine, it packs enough pressure to be able to remove the grits from the washmitt.
About your prelims i hope you did good hehe, my sister is also very tired from her prelims and we actually just came back from UST playing L4d2 its her way of de-stressing hahaha and im getting addicted too bad we can't get past some stages though.
As for the High Gear MF towels, i was so happy about its price i bought a lot of it and it just ended up being used for my asphalt removal and interior cleaning, while its a really good value for money i find it too thin to tackle delicate paint, and just to be on the safe side i use MF towels with a deeper nap, but you could also use that to remove polish and waxes safely, just make sure that once it gets too much product change it ASAP, I use this for older cars and for neglected cars. One thing i hate about this towel though is that once you mix the blue MF towels with yellow applicators and towels it stains the other towels, and now most of my towels are stained thats why i refrain from using it with my good MF's. I even had some Cobra and Griots MF towels that got stained badly.
There's also this brand called I-clean in handyman its a little more expensive than High Gear since its at 120 pesos, but its MF is a lot thicker in terms of threads/inch and overall thickness, Blade sells this for 150 but you can get it at some handyman for only 120, for me this is a better deal since its also tougher and more durable, you might want to look into this since its just a 20 pesos difference and you could feel the difference especially when you fold it.

January 24th, 2010 03:02 AM #3289*thx777: Showtime is really a good QD, it can actually fill in micro scratches in some cases and it does sort of give it that extra deeper color although in a very small effect only. And for a 24oz bottle it really is huge. As for your car cover i've never used one so i can't comment on that, you might have to wait for someone that knows about this, but i saw my friend last time just using a damp cloth to wipe the outside of the car, he's been doing this for sometime already and he's still using the same old car cover and it still works fine for him, but that's only for the exterior not including the interior. If im not mistaken he just uses his old fashion huge washing machine to clean it. So i would suggest that once the car cover gets really dirty then it might just be better to buy a new duster head instead. Oh yeah it might be a good idea to get 2 car covers once you know how to properly clean them, so that when one gets dirty you could just pull out the other spare one and put the dirty one in the laundry.
