guys can i use california duster para sa exterior ng car? the red one? i remember kasi parang nabasa ko dito before na ok yun. so i bought one two years ago and used it to dust my (then) car.
recently i got a new car - so i bought one California duster ulit, pero this time i noticed na nasa packaging nakalagay na it should only be used for auto interiors?

*water: Actually waxes are better in protecting your paint against rainy season but its just that most people get daunted by the idea of waxing or even washing their car during rainy seasons. Waxes as far as i know provide better protection than sealants in more ways, its just that sealants lasts a lot longer and are a lot tougher. Lets say you have a daily drive and it so happened that it rained a lot during the week and inbetween those rain showers the sun is blazing directly at your paint, then your wax would only last you at most 2 weeks if its the normal OTC wax and it would last you about at most 2 months for those heavy duty imported waxes. Waxes durability are depended on a whole lot more factors as compared to sealants, factors like engine temperature, weather, wash method, type of wax and a whole lot more. Sealants on the other hand despite providing a notch less in terms of protecting against the elements are a lot more impervious to these factors, sealants can withstand hot engine temperatures, they can withstand lots of washes and are definitely not easily removed during rainy season. So basically its like waxes provide better protection but are easy to remove, sealants provide less protection but lasts a lot longer.

As for the waxes i advised, they are not all available in malls as far as i know. I had the FK hi temp wax shipped from the US, As for the collinite 476 i know someone that imports them for me and for car enthusiasts ( pm me if you're interested ) and as for the Dupont Carnauba wax i also had it imported from the US but i remember someone saying they saw one on a mall some time ago.

As for Car wash shops, i would recommend Big Berts, Mothers in San Juan and Megs in kamias

*jmpet626: Well in my case and based on my experience, paste waxes usually lasts a little longer for me as compared to liquid waxes. And i have compared Mothers Paste and liquid step 3 against each other on our company cars, and the one with paste wax lasted a little less than a week longer. Also paste waxes for me are a lot more economical since you really use a little and it goes a long way.

As for the Reflections and Synwax, basically Reflections is designed as a 2 step process to be followed with a topcoat for a better protection and shine and Synwax is designed to be a 1 step process. Both Reflections and Synwax has mild cleaners. For me Reflections wax + topcoat is slightly shinier and more durable as compared to Synwax. Reflections also look better for dark colored vehicles and Synwax provide a much more crisp shine which is more noticeable on lighter colored vehicles. Both also contain synthetic polymers so expect them to last a little longer than the UWS step 3.

*macychic: If its the Original California Car Duster it should be ok with paint, actually it is designed for removing dusts on the paint and thats what i also use on my car. Now if you bought the kit, there's a smaller duster named California Dash duster, now thats the one thats supposed to be used on the interior. Edit i just read your post again, the small one is the dash duster, it should be used on the interior only, it won't harm if you use it for the exterior but its better if you use the small one for interior and a big one for exterior. But yup what you have there is the dash duster so better use it for interior.

*macychic: i have that one too, i only use it for interior of cars, basically its the same as the big duster only difference i can think of would be the amount of paraffin wax it has. As far as i remember when i first opened my mini duster it wasn't as greasy as compared to the big duster. I think if you're planning on using that for the exterior i think it would be safe maybe the only difference would be that it might not pick up that much dirt as compared to the bigger duster not because the bigger duster is bigger but i think the paraffin wax in the duster also helps catch the dust. Basically i think its all the same in terms of materials only difference would be the amount of wax where the mini duster has a lot less

Thanks sa reply very informative. One more question, Ano ba magandang paraan para i apply yung paste wax? Need ko ba gumamit ng spatula then apply ko sa LC pads or Rub ko directly yung LC pad sa container ng wax?
