Had my Optiguard's first session in Ortigas branch and I'm impressed with the results. Willy and the staff are very accomodating.

Anyway, I'm sorry if this was asked before. I can't find the right keywords to search for it. Here's my question:

What to avoid from removing the sealant?
    Does frequent washing removes it?
Can I still put wax on it?

    TIA.

Make sure yung car shampoo ay formulated para di maka strip ng wax and dapat tama yung amount ng shampoo. Pag masydong matapang may tendency maka strip ng wax.

Pwede lagyan ng Pure Carnauba wax, yung walang cleaners. Like Mothers Step 3, Reflections Top Coat and Collinite 845/476s

*Sniper Wolf: totally agree with jm. but just my two cents on the matter, not related to BB so you might still want to get their advice

    1. you have to avoid removing them chemically and mechanically, using strong shampoos and detergents will strip sealants, some sealants are detergent proof as they claim but still reduce when washed with strong detergents. Mechanically when you use chamois to dry wipe your car using strong pressure, so try to use a MF drying towel

    2. frequent washing can inevitable reduce your sealant, but the question would be how many washes? if you wash your car properly and safely your sealant could last you up to 1 year especially if its well maintained and boosted with other protection, conversely poor washing methods can lead to faster deterioration of the sealant.

    3. Yes, it is actually advisable to wax your car once you car has been sealed, pls do allow 24 of cure time before waxing your car, waxing the car offers another barrier of protection against the elements making your sealant last longer since it does not suffer the abuse taken in by the wax. Wax would be the first line of defense your car has against pollutants and contaminants and when you have a sealant you have another tougher and more durable layer once the wax fails.

    Hope this helps.

    *madkatz and jmpet626,

    Thank you. Very informative indeed

'Was wondrin' if vinegar treatment on water-spots should weaken the sealant as well?

Lastly, sounds like a dummy question but I'll try: Is there a "mild-carwash" option in BigBerts to preserve the Optiguard?

    Thanks again.

*Sniper Wolf: most probably it would affect the sealant since its an acid. As for the shampoo question, well they said their shampoo will not strip wax, but for me i usually do it myself and only have it washed monthly or something since the vehicles here are washed weekly, what i did with megs is bring a bottle of NXT shampoo and avail of the carwash service, pay the full price but tell them to use NXT instead.

*daney_waney: you should get the regular one first and then the spray wax after, the spray wax is a wax thats less concentrated, it does not offer any long term protection and its just used as a booster over you regular wax to prolong the waxes life span, which in some cases is needed for the protection to last 1 month

Rain Harry Tire black gamit ko magaling naman...

You can't get any more tire- and environmentally- friendly than Rain Harry Tire black's base...

Tip for the splatter, konti lang lagay, tama lang para ma-wet-look tires.

yes we will polish the car first before applying sealant.

    you can go 2 ways.

    1. enroll the car under optigurad >>> http://bigberts.com/optiguard.htm

    2. stage 1 paint detail

as for the car cover. you can lay down clean towels on the roof and hood before you put on the car cover, to minimize swirls
and make sure before you cover the car it is also clean.
