    pissword,

just checked the manual - 95 RON ang recommended - velocity and caltex gold lang ang choices ko.

alarm na lang problem ko, can't decide what brand to choose and who should install.

    ayun 95 RON nga.

Pissword, I think the 89RON info you got is from the US sites. iba yung RON rating sa pinas. Sa US kase naka average yun (something with MON and RON yata if i remember it right) Dito sa Pinas the 93RON is only 87+ something in the US.

ok naman ang freebies ko - tint (3M), LTO reg, floormats, steering wheel lock, rustproof. i forgot to ask about the EWD. hmmm....

walang alarm na free, kaya magpapalagay na lang ako. already posted additional questions regarding car alarms and car tints in the appropriate threads. sana maraming sumagot
    april... congrats sa new rav4!!!

basically same freebies din pala tayo when i got my rav... pinatint ko lahat ng windows - pero di nila kaya yun single peice tint sa front windshield... ngek!

just like sups said, sa autoline ako nagpainstall ng alarm. syempre clifford hehe. magaling sila... i got the g3 clifford... i like the soft chirp of cliffords hehe. mahirap yun keyless entry sa kin, di ako mapakali. atleast with the clifford, slight tap sa windows or body may chirp na sya. wards off pesky kids and peeps hehehe.

i use pertron blaze, for now. may gas allowance kase hehehe. pero pag ala, malamang 93 ron din ako. sobra mahal gas ngayon, balita ko magtataas uli this april by 1 piso.... :D

IMO, better spend more for a 95 RON gasoline than do long term damage to your engine by using a 93 RON gasoline.

currently am using shell velocity right now... testing the better mileage formula...

but i've noticed that petron blaze is the most suitable for the Rav4. sometimes am getting almost 400 km/L per tankful.

    Miss April... yep! autoline!

Magaling yung tauhan nila dun he knows how to handle the electrical system of the Rav4. yung sa akin nga di na disabled yung stock keyless entry. It still works aside form the additional lock unlock button from the alarm remote. :D

yun sa stock remote kase kulang buttons nun bale lock and unlock lang. for an aftermarket alarm with four buttons you can use the extra channels/ buttons to activate the panic alarm or yung ganun sa ginawa sa alarm namin ni cardo yung busina naka assign sa ibang button.

guys, tanong lang. ok lang ba mag switch back and forth between 93 RON and 95 RON? ok lang ba maghalo yung dalawa sa tank?

95 rating will be useless if mixed with lower octane ratings. Inshort, you'll end up wasting money. Pwede naman ipaghalo as long as gasoline fuels ang magkasama.

piso lang naman ata ang difference, haay binasa ko nga ang manual 95 nga..

tapos naisip ko pa, dating mga engine ng celica tong engines ng rav4, kaya malamang kelangan ito ng hi octane rating... d talaga nag iisip

hehe sir supierreman, auto nalang yung iba, after kong mag lock bahala na syang mag alarm and everything else, yun sa highlander kasi namin before ganun eh...

pag naiwanan mo ang sasakyan at d mo nalock, after 15 seconds, hindi sya mag lalock pero mag aactivate ang alarm. so if binuksan aalarm sya... cobra din daw yun sabi ng bro ko.

i totally disabled yun keyless entry sa susi ng rav4... tinanggal ko na lang battery nun since parang useless na sya eh with all the gudstuf asa clifford na.

actually, yun concept 100(g4 pala not g3) ko na clifford inassign ko yun trunk open button sa busina ko(stebel nautilus) para pag may sumandal gulat sya hehe. tas yun foglights ko naka assign sa * ata. ang gusto ko dun sa alarm parang may audio sensor sya na nadedetect yun glass breaking. konting tap sa windows with a coin or key may warning chirp sya. kahit sa body. pero pag may dumaan na jeep or may malakas na tambutso or something else ala naman chirp. wais nga eh. unlike sa matrix, tambutso ng jeep may chirp na. ang rant ko lang sa concept is that pag matagal mong pinindut yun disarm to hop on, nag aalarm sya. kelangan mabilis lang at saglit yun pagpindut mo.

sa autolock naman... napansin ko sa clifford, magbliblink muna yun signal lights, then lock and sabay silent arm if you fail to arm it. sa clifford matrix(way back yr 2001) ko dati, nag aarm lang pero ndi lock.

    cardo818 and supierreman,

paano ang warranty? sino dealer niyo?

talked to the parts center of toyota makati. they said pag sila nag-install, walang problema sa warranty. pag sa labas ko pa-install, void daw warranty.

Why would you do this... to average out your cost? Well, technically, it would also average out your tank's RON. But as ungas said, you're just wasting your money (esp. if you're a 93 RON user). Piso lang ang price difference, di ba?

Always stick to the same RON (kahit iba-ibang brand).

If you are a current 93 RON user, its OK to upgrade but make sure you stick to it.

If you are using higher RON, it might not be a good idea to downgrade, baka mapikon ka sa "tope" ng engine. Worse, you might experience "knocking" engine.

Always refer to your car's owner's manual for the recommended RON.

thnx for the replies, i'm currently using 93 on rav4 since casa said its ok. ok lang naman andar, its still new but i don't in the long run. but the manual recommends 95 so that's what i plan to fill up next time and observe. if there's no diff then i might switch back to 93 para makatipid kahit paano. will there be improved mileage with higher rating?

In upgrading to higher RON, you will experience better and smoother acceleration. That's about it.

As for fuel economy, it would depend on your engine size, type of tranny and driving habits. But people say that you get better fuel economy with the 93 RON.

Most new fuel injected engines advise RON 95 and higher, it's ok to use higher RON.

remember po, celica engine tong nasa rav4, specially yung sa SV. so it really needs the higher ron..

btw blaze is ron 96 and velocity is ron 95. simula nung wednesday blaze lang ang ginagamit ko, and i dont think gagamit pa ako ng iba..

babawi ako sa pagamit kong 93 ron the past 10 months haha psychological lang naman para lang feeling ko ok lang un engine.

    hi all,

i want to buy sana a shade for the front windshield. i realized though na most sun-shades are designed for sedans, not for SUVs. meron ba bigger sizes for SUVs? where is it available?

    thanks.
