Sabi nga nung writer na sikat (Schumacher), make you firm small and efficient kasi "Small is Beautiful". Kasi kung ang business plan mo ay mag-assemble ng 100,000 vehicles/year tapos ang target mo ay $ billion+++ ang income mo, mag-mass produce ka. Pero kung ang business plan ay just enough to be profitable, ok na yun--initially. May short run and long run production naman e.
The problem exists in the price. Porsche, and other small european car makers are profit engines because their cars are more expensive than mass produced vehicles. In europe, hand made vehicles are given respect and are priced higher. In the Philippines, Philippine hand made vehicles are not well respected and have LOWER selling prices. In the jeepneys for instance, manufacturers earn as little as P20k per jeepney. That's not much considering the amount of work and craftmanship placed into each vehicle. It'll also mean that R&D suffers kaya we often end up having the same old technology in our vehicles.
