The business decisions that led to automotive manufacturing here being at its state are far too elaborate for you to appreciate.
You apparently are more keen on putting down an industry that employs more people than you actually could care for.
You're either content in being infinitely wrong or simply flame baiting.
would you believe this -- the Progressive Car Manufacturing Program circa 1970's -- is still in UP elib

what happened?
Martial law happened
then cory happened
then ramos happened
then estrada happened
then arroyo happened...
then willie nep happened
then mehny pac happened

^ so hindi lang pala sa agri/aqua culture industry ... pati car industry
if (a very big if) we pursued the PCMP in the 1970's eh we should be a major player in ASEAN pala
why couldnt we get our acts together
we tried pala in the mid 1990's to pursue the People's Car Program; malamang wala ring nangyari
