    Far as I know if it's not specifically prohibited then it should be allowed, so long as it passes emissions testing (traditional two stroke combustion produces higher levels of hydrocarbon emissions).

    Our rules make no mention of any specific combustion cycle, but does set allowable emissions levels depending on the age of the vehicle and the type of fuel in use.

    That entry-ignition design is super interesting! Efficiency is even higher than F1 with hybrid systems, or otto cycle 4-stroke.

    But Mazda's new patent is more of the traditional 2-stroke right?
