June 13th, 2008 04:41 PM #41HI AY,
Current kei car engine specs is max out at 660cc. However Suzuki does have the F8A which is 800cc.
Fully agree with you re the need for base model. The question is how base is base? Four door is a given but the group is still deliberating between 660cc and 800cc. Basically between keeping true to the kei specs or going with current trends. That is why I started this thread to get more informative feedback like yours. However the caveat is that most of the tsikoteers do not fall directly into our specified target market.Still, a constructive open discussion should help considerably towards defining a suitable configuration. Thanks and regards.

how about lets start on a basic platform like mira, or micra or old alto(aka daewoo tico)
660cc, 5MT if possible, 4 is good.. but also can be in either 3 or 4 speed AT.
dapat atleast maka 20km/L on a non-turbo engine, efi if possible.
out of the story ang on-frame chassis because of weight. front wheel configuration.
will look on chinese and japanese sites for details. at para na din sa design specs din nila..
well target market natin are students, ordinary workers who travel mostly alone...

June 14th, 2008 07:38 AM #44For prototyping this would probably be one of the most expeditious ways to go. Suzuki keis seem to be more widely available here than the other brands so we probably will go that route.

hehehe..ganun...
for the engine, eto naisip ko na-- a 660cc turbo and a non-turbo 800cc.. both with either matic or manual.. forget the 4wd.. pero siguro, for the 660, go MT tayo, at sa 800cc may MT/AT options.
theres a cvt tranny for this.. now sourcing the cvt is not easy. pero kung yun mamemate natin than that traditional AT, its much better.
nga pala, newer K6A has VVT!
a so thats the reason why he's touring the chop shops in bulacan hehehe.. i thought he will go to apalit chop-chop center hehehe...
will come with them pag uwi ng misis at kids ko sa palayan city, n.e...pati mag JDM kei-car viewing kami na din sa plaridel kung kaya din..
edit: instead of sourcing for F6a engine.. why not the newer K6A engines

June 14th, 2008 10:18 AM #49*AY,
Sorry I didn't make it clear - di chop chop un mga zuk wagon r's. Well, in a way they are as they are literally cut into four main pieces to make them more compact for transport from Japan and (I assume) to reduce applicable taxes. Kasi when we say chop-chop, it implies carnapped vehicles.
re F6A vs K6A - I guess it is a question of affordability...but, of course, we can discuss it sa eb.
*OyiL - have you pm'd/emailed ehnriko re the design platform?
