"Mazda now has a patent for a two-stroke supercharged engine design in the United States. This is intriguing because two-stroke combustion powerplants are not something you find in any modern automobile. These days, you're more likely to find this type of mill in a leafblower or chainsaw."
No cooling in the diagram.
The valving is not cam driven, its possibly actuators.
Belt drive for the sc is abit odd, electric sc doesn't need that belt already.
Far as I know if it's not specifically prohibited then it should be allowed, so long as it passes emissions testing (traditional two stroke combustion produces higher levels of hydrocarbon emissions).
Our rules make no mention of any specific combustion cycle, but does set allowable emissions levels depending on the age of the vehicle and the type of fuel in use.
