yesterday nag overheat yung oto ko... di naman tumirik, naubusan ng tubig sa rad (nakalimutan ko ilagay yung takip ng coolant reservoir -- oo alam ko katangahan talaga!). nong nag mainit ang makina.. may lumalabas na white smoke sa may muffler.. as in parang cloud talaga... pinatay ko ang makina (dahil maski anong buhos ko ng tubig at dagdag ng tubig sa coolant reservoir, ayaw bumaba ng temp).. pinalamig ko... checked the rad (konti na lang ang tubig.. coolant na lang ata ang natira) pinuno ko ng tubig, pati yung coolant reservoir. ayun ok naman... normal ulet temp, nakauwi ako ng bahay na di nag ooverheat, sa tingin ko talagang naubusan ng tubig dahil sa katangahan kong di nasara yung reservoir, plus wala na reng white smoke na lumalabas sa muffler ko. isang problema ko, when i checked sa ilalim, parang may tagas ang makina ko (there are a few drops of oil sa floor). what should i do? anong problema? first time ko lang makaranas ng overheat. did i break something? the car is running fine naman. thanks for the help guys

When your car overheats, its adviseable to change the oil right after as its molecular buildup can break down when the engine overheated.
Just hope that you didnt damage any internals when you overheated (this may occur at times). Try to change the oil then observe your car for any leaks or oil consumption/loss and spark plug fouling. If there is any such problems, try to get a engine compression test as well just to be safe.

Some engines tend to self adjust their tuppets after an overheating stage. Try to listen for some unwanted noise under the valve cover.

Changing the gaskets shouldnt be that costly IMO... Canvass muna from diff shops.
Try to get also a second opinion from another mechanic just to be sure... especially if you dont see any leaks in the engine area.

had it checked sa ibang mechanic, sabi nya all it needs are new oil seals (for cam and crankshaft), tinaas nya yung oto at chineck ng mabuti... so far mukang mas kapanipaniwala sya kasya yung isang mekaniko na mukang gusto lang maka-uto
