Palagay ko baka best na itapon/recycle na lang.

We used to stockpile yung mga replaced but still serviceable parts din ng mga sasakyan namin, but yung mga non-deteriorating items lang (radiator fan, magwheels, spark plugs etc.) Since goma yan and used na, madudurog lang.

What do you call this small hose? Bypass hose ba?

There's some coolant escaping on the top. I already adjusted and re-adjusted the clip but there's still coolant escaping as seen on the pics.

Clean inside the hose and clean the barbed fitting. Then before reinstalling the hose apply a film of silicone sealant. Wait for the sealant to cure before filling with coolant and pressure test to specs

From the picture, it seems that the coolant has begun to permeate through the rubber, likely from micro-cracks due to age. The leak may also be coming from the tube the hose is connected to.... probably a pinhole caused by corrosion (if it's made of metal/aluminum) or a stress crack (if made of plastic).

The weather is just going to get much hotter in the coming weeks so better nip this problem in the bud.

    ^^ It's apparently called a heater hose.

My question is , can I safely shorten the hose I'm possibly going to buy?

Apparently, the only oem heater hose that's readily available is for the 1.8 liter engine (mine is 2.0 ). It's a bit too long so I might have to do some slicing and dicing if I have to make it work.

It should be fine if they share the same I.D. Thought, the O.D. also needs to be near enough for the old clamps to still be able to bite on the hose to keep it snug.

Replace the coolant while you're at it. This calls for a Honda Type 2?

Iyon nga pinanghihinayang ko because I just flushed and changed my type 2 coolant several months ago when I installed new oem upper and lower rad hoses.

I think those are the last stuff I bought from the now shuttered Honda Alabang casa nga.
