Open the radiator cap before starting your engine. Then try to start it and rev, water should flow inside the radiator caused by the water pump. If static water, try to clean/flush radiator water first. Then try it again to check if the pump is working.

Pag pa-akyat ng bundok talaga tataas ang engine temp. Lalo na kung naka-aircon ka pa. Pwersado kasi ang makina. It is better to turn the aircon off for less engine load during uphill climbs. Or you could turn off the compressor switch and just use the blower or fan instead.

long-term effects ng overheat ... degraded oil seals and rubber hoses ... you'd be replacing these items sooner than expected

ang naobserbahan ko sa oto ko (civic esi 95) ... the temperature gauge is rock steady at 1/3 scale after warm-up regardless of driving conditions, e.g., hot weather+heavy traffic+uphill+full blast a/c or even just idling under the sun with a/c on ... if you observe the same on your car, you should start to worry if the gauge shows any increase in temperature because it is telling you that there is a problem! :worried:

Ingat daw sa mga coolants (read: maintenance myths), sabi ng ibang mekaniko di advisable lagyan ng coolant ang radiator and other cooling systems if the vehicle is seldomly used within a week.
