pano po ma diagnose ang sirang water pump? aside from visible leaks sa pump..pag open po radiator sabay rev medyo amaapaw kasi yung tubig.

it is normal for the coolant to surge when the radiator cap is removed and you rev the engine up while the engine is warm. it the surge happens even when the engine is cold, there is a possibility that the thermostat had been removed or is stuck open. tell tale signs the pump is going south are:1. there is going to be leaks, there is a small hole on the bottom of the pump called the weep hole outboard of the pump seal. if the shaft is misaligned from wear and tear or if the seal is damaged, it will leak. 2. the water pump normally has a life span of five years on the average, but if the accessory belts are too tight, the bearings get overloaded and get hot, eventually leading to premature failure.

April 6th, 2010 08:22 AM #3mahirap madiagnose ang waterpump kung walang visible leak, well pwede sha umingay dahil nagmamalfunction ang bearings.
tama si jick na ang possible cause ng pagbulwak ng tubig pagnirev ang engine kahit malamig e thermostat. ganyan din kasi sa sasakyan ko ngayon.
