Recirculate is always on for me, too. I just turn it off for a few minutes when the car was left in the sun and the air inside is very hot. I let in fresh colder air from outside since usually nasa open parking ka pa nga lang. Minsan tumatakbo na sa daan ang sasakyan na nakakalimutan ko i-ON then mangangamoy usok sa loob (or pag minamalas-malas, amoy basura) doon ko lang maaalala na-off pala yung recirculate. Yung iba pang reasons to turn off recirculate eh nabanggit na rin naman sa itaas.

that would also work. in fact, it's probably even more efficient at refreshing the air inside.
but if it were raining, the rain would also get in.
more important, however, if one did that, the madlang pipol outside might think sira ang aircon mo!
    heh heh heh.

If you do it that way you introduce more drag and will burn more fuel on the move

    maybe, but...
at our traffick-y speeds, you'd probably need a dropper to notice the difference.

but the effect of windows-down on the auto aircon, is another thing.

^its not even safe to roll down your windows in traffic, baka mahablot ang cellphone

Every car made has a provision for an air vent to introduce fresh air and to deal with the mist. Learning how to use it is a must for a healthy, safe and economic use of your vehicle in all weather and traffic conditions
