overheat : cylinder head gasket problem?

OT: tama si sir Otep. mainam na magsimula sa maraming problemang sasakyan, kesa sa panay bago pero walang alam. naalala ko tuloy yung Bulokswagen namin na every week may sira. dahil dun sa kotseng yun, ang dami kong natutunan sa kotseng yun. gradually, nung sumakit ang ulo nang tatay ko bumili na rin nang medyo bago pero luma pa din. nagsawa din sa sira, ayun bumili nang brand new, ngayon alagang-alaga yung kotseng yun kahit 10 years old na.

anyways, kung nauubos ang langis mo sir sprex naku baka piston ring yan. at pakiwari ko, mukhang major engine overhaul na yung kotse mo. para sigurado lang.

Thanks Otep. Dami nga ako natutunan sa car. Zero knowledge talaga ako sa car, ito ung unang car that i bought.

Ung car iniwan ko na sa haus sa tarlac, baka kasi d na makabalik dito sa manila.. buti na nga lang d tumirik..hopefully nga minimal lang ang gagastusin ko dun. d din pala ako gumagamit ng coolant, plain water lang..

D naman talaga nag over heat, ung needle medyo tumaas sa kalahati kaya tumigil kami agad to check.. Ung temp gauge kasi is taas baba eh. Ginamit pa namin ung car sandali just to check kung tataas ulit ung temp, nung ginamit namin for 2 hour normal naman ung temp...

deck means yung pinapatungan ng cylinder head or yung pinaka taas ng block.Dapat straight sya.Kung di mo pa rin makuha parang sandwich yan na may palalaman.Sandwich(block)tapos palaman(gasket)tapos yung pang patong nya sa taas Cylinder head.Kung hind sya straight may lalabas na hangin.Sorry i'm not good in epxlaining things.

mausok ba? you mentioned kasi na nagbabawas ng engine oil...yap, do the compression test kung ganun..baka loose compression na yan..(worst blow by na engine...) tsaka alagaan mo sa langis..always check your engine oil before going on a long trip..hirap baka kumatok, mas malaki gastos...


about sa bubble sa radiator, posibleng head gasket..kasi dapat pag open mo radiator cap, alang bubble sa radiator..pag may bubble, baka may singaw cylinder head gasket...pacheck mo na, hirap mag-long ride pag ganyan..baka kaya tumaas ang gauge mo, kasi kulang na ang tubig..masyado na mainit ang engine mo...check mo level ng water, ha?

while the head is off have a machine shop check it for warpage too. also see if there are leaks sa valveseals.

Wow, barely 3 weeks of owning a car eh ang dami ko na naging problems.. Sana magamit ko na ung car sa holiday sa Nov without problemds...

Buti na lang dami ako tulong na nareceive dito sa forum . Ngayon naman ang problem is may tendency to overheat na yung car (96 Galant SS). Punta kami Tarlac yesterday (from mandaluyong), very smooth naman ung takbo namin sa NLEX tapos nung nasa dau exit na kami unti unti tumaas ung needle ng temp. Di naman umabot sa critical level.. pag dating namin ng Tarlac pina-check namin sa mechanic ung car, sabi nung mechanic, may pressure ung radiator kasi lumalabas daw ung water pag binuksan ung cover (bubbling?), ang diagnosis nila is kailangan i replace ung cylinder head gasket. Ang mga napansin nila is may konting water na lumalabas sa muffler, kumonti ung engine oil (kaka change oil lang namin mga 2 weeks ago) and parang may oil (buo-buo) sa radiator and dun sa lalagyan ng water (sa coolant?) tapos ang bilis din maubos ung water nung radiator..

Need advice po ulit from the experts on what to do and kung tama na un cylinder head gasket nga ang culprit.

hello, same problem before. my ride is '96 civic, lagi tumataas temp, me halong oil sa radiator, amoy gas ung coolant reservoir same with the radiator, palyado, matakaw sa gas, bilis mabawasan oil and hirap re-start.

pina check ko sa mechanic, he found out me singaw sa cylinder head. pina machine shop namin (cylinder head resurface) then me mga pinalitan na malalaking tornilyo, palit cylinder head gasket, change oil, linis spark plug, linis din radiator.

after that lahat ok na, nakapag byahe nako manila without any hussle. radiator is a single row surplus. total cost of repair 6k.

before ko pinagawa nakaka 200kms lang ako sa 38liters of gas, city and some minor highway driving, after ko pinagawa with same 38liters of gas and city driving, i've got to reached 320kms.

that's the effect if loose compression ang engine..malakas sa gas...kaya mas maganda, pa-compression test baka may singaw na...

meron din ako problema sa auto ko, same din ang problema, una lagi ako dag dag ng engine oil, one week ko syang nagamit tapos ngayon tumataas na yung temperature ko, san po kaya problema nito proton wira po to..
