Yup, ganyan talaga sakit ng Vanette habang tumatagal. According to some owners and mechanics, mali kasi ang placement ng radiator, tapos single-row pa.
Most bought a 2nd aux fan or a double-row rad to correct the problem (provided na wala namang leaks ang hoses).

December 20th, 2007 08:04 PM #6ganun din ang yung vanette gf ng barkada ko. nasa grahe na at nakatambak na lang kasi overheat ang sakit. accdg to her, dami na mekanikong gumawa ganun pa din. dito kasi ako sa davao. i'll tell her about galactus' suggestion to put additional aux fan or a double row rad. sayang din naman kasi. alikabok lang ang nakikinabang.hehe..

December 20th, 2007 10:15 PM #7yeah, check the clutch fan and/or add an aux fan plus a thicker radiator to cure the problem.

May vanette kami dati ganyan din, pinalitan namin ng radiator and bought an additional aux fan. After that naging okay naman ang temp nya kahit sa traffic.

Bro, I own a circa 1998 Vanette. When it was relatively newer, I never had the overheating problem even in heavy traffic. But a few years ago, I noticed that the temperature is abnormally high during traffic. So, we had the condenser near the radiator repositioned underneath the front passenger side and placed an extra auxiliary fan for it. After that, no more engine temperature problem even in heavy traffic.
If you don't have the budget yet for the above modification, you may also try to add silicone on your clutch fan. I am sure it needs 'reconditioning', since this direct drive fan is the only one cooling your radiator (and your second condenser).... You should also make sure that the space between the radiator and the condenser is clean all the time. Because overtime, it accumulates web-like contams hindering the flow of air....
Good luck. The Vanette is one great vehicle (not the ride.... ), so I guess if you do not have this problem, then it is something worthwhile to keep. I never disposed of my baby even if we have new rides....

3M Color Stable series are all above 50% TSER. RFID readable through the tint, stays good for...
What's the best car tint brand and color?
