Good eve mga Sir. I went to Honda Alabang earlier for my 40k km PM. The Service Advisor recommended immediate replacement of my fan motor, not working na raw kasi at ipinasilip din nya sa akin. However, the quote is 15k, parts and labor. Since newbie ako sa mga sasakyan, I have no idea kung nasa magkano ang ganitong part pag pinalitan though para sakin too expensive. Any suggestion for reputable autoshop around or near Cavite na pwede kong puntahan? My car is Honda Jazz 2013 model. One more thing, hindi ba too early para masira agad yun? Thank you in advance!

I think the 15k is too much for an aux fan. It probably included other services like A/C maintenance, system cleaning, recharging, and whatnot.

Since it's already out of warranty, bring it to an A/C specialist shop like Frigid Zone (they have a branch in Congressional cor. Mindanao Ave., QC).

I had my Civic FD passenger side aux fan replaced there for around 4k (including labor) using an OEM Denso motor. They just replaced the actual motor, re-using the existing fan blades and frame.

Yikes! Layo pala ng presyo. Buti na lang wala silang stock kanina, kung hindi butas ang bulsa. Actually Sir yung 15k nila e as in para lang doon sa particular na papalitang part and labor, walang extra na gagawin. Thank you Sir oj88.

Yes it can breakdown anytime. My 2013 Mirage's fan motor broken down 2x already.

If it doesn't rotate anymore, if it wiggles, it's broken.

Yes, it's always cheaper to have repairs outside Casa, but will void any warranties that you may have.

A 2013 model would most likely have no warranty anyway

If you set your A/C too cold, the aux fan operates at a longer duty cycle. These fans have carbon brushes that wear down.

Honda of this generation would have two fan speeds, low and high. With the A/C off and the engine is hot, the fan spins at low speed. When the A/C is on and the compressor engages, the fan spins at high speed. When the engine is overheating, the fans spins at high speed, regardless of whether the A/C is turned on or off.
