kakagawa lang ng van ko-->yehey! pinaliguaan ko na din at pinabanguhan.....pero question ko lang...

fill ko to the brim, start ko makina, patay-->hihigop siya, then puno ko ulit to the brim, then cover ko na ng cap.. run engine to running temp * idle, napansin ko may tinulo siyang coolant parin, then after a while bigla lang tumigil ang tumutulo..as in wala na..

konti lang naman nilabas na coolant, feeling ko yung sobra lang..(wala pang 1 liter).. up to now, wala paring tulo

so naisip ko, may relief valve kaya, kung sakaling na-over-fill ko yung system?

    can someone confirm naman o....

There is a pee hole sa water pump. Pag masama na ang shafting dito lalabas ang H20 pag hindi umaandar or hindi equalize ang pumping at pushing. The best relief valve is the radiator cap at vice versa if you have an overflow catch.

Pressure relief valve = Radiator cap...

e kung over-filled lang, may valve for that-->or depende sa design talaga....

4jg > yung sinasabi mong "hindi equalize ang pumping at pushing" maaring dito nag-fafall yung symptom, kasi up till now wala na tulo...

You don't fill it to the brim, hanggang sa neck lang nung radiator filler neck. The brim is where the cap fastens itself. The valve for the radiator cap reaches only the neck, not the brim, hence the overflow mechanism is activated and pressure is relieved via the radiator cap. HTH

Also for those with expansion tanks/reservoirs, this works the same. Do not overfill, only to the "MAX" line. This allows excess coolant from the radiator (remember, it expands when it gets hot) to transfer to the reservoir in case it gets too hot, and when it cools down coolant goes back. That's why you have to leave some space and not overfill the reservoir.

sa van design kasi, yung brim is not on the radiator-->pic:

malapit sa exit ng water from the engine back to the radiator...kaya pag sinabing brim, mostlikely sobrang puno kaya?

I think i know what happened. Since bago ang water pump the water seal was not yet pressurized that is why may nag seep ang water. Imagine the rubber ring sa clutch repair kit, its expansion depends on the fluid pressure.

you have to bleed the system before replacing the radiator cap.
