Most manufacturers recommend draining your radiator and replacing the coolant every 20,000 kms or 2 years.

nagtataka kami kasi car namin (96 elantra) di pa na ddrain or overhaul yung radiator. still works fine nga e ni hindi pa rin kami nagdadagdag ng water or coolant since we first got it. i guess maganda yung factory coolant nya kasi green pa nga eh. no signs of rust yet.

read from other forums mas okay if the water used is distilled water, kung ordianry tap water maraming minerals or contaminants that may stick to the radiator...

most fellas recommend distilled mix to your coolant then yung coolant mixture naman depende kung anong eh achieve mo na temp. ratio. The more coolant medyo taas yung temp. resistant.

m using a ratio of 1/3 coolang 2/3 water right now. ave temp is half of the gauge...

its not baba yung engine temp mo pag binago mo ang ratio......

try kung eh explain yung nabasa ko...... assuming may ratio kang 60(di water):40(coolant) then yung na achieve na temp. resistant mga 500C - claim by manufacturer (exag # lang) then ngayon binago mo ang ratio to 50:50 yung claim ng manufcaturer ai 600C (big #'s again for the sake of comparison). Somehow yung engine temp. mo ai 450C so 50:50 solution isn't pratical coz the 60:40 can still resist the temp.

The 50:50 solution is advisable if the engine temp somewhere higher than 500C. Talking of >500C tapos pag ginamit mo yung 60:40 chances are iinit yung engine mo cause its beyond control enviroment of 60:40 solution.

I'm open for correction kung mali ang pagka-intindi ko sa script ng coolant manufacturer

how often do u drain your radiator?
