April 13th, 2009 11:38 PM #1guys, help lang po...earlier nagpunta po ako ng megamall around 3.30 pm. Pagkaakyat ko ng parking lot sa 4th level while looking for a slot, i noticed na tumaas yung temp guage ko to 3/4 level. Syempre, panic ako...never encountered any problem yet with this car's temp...I put off the a/c then eventually bumaba naman ang temp to its normal (less than 1/2) level...so iniwan ko muna gala-gala...Going home(bicutan area) i was intently checking for the same high temperature...medyo kinabahan ako nung traffic from c5 bridge to bicutan exit...di naman nagrecur yung overheating...pagdating ko sa house, i checked the engine bay....umaandar naman yung fans -radiatior and auxiliary (btw naglagay pala ako ng coolant the day before)..so ok naman di naman na nagoverheat or nataas temp....what could be the cause of the overheating...hirap magpagawa sa mechanic tapos sabihin ko nataas temp pero di naman...I plan pa naman to go to baguio...parang nagsesecond thoughts tuloy ako ngayon...help lang ano gawin ko?

parang isolated case po itong sa inyo sir.
ano pong mixture ng coolant ang nilagay ninyo the day before? nag-overheat lang po ba nung matapos lagyan ng coolant?
normal reading ng gauge niyan, mababa nang kaunti sa gitna...

could be just an isolated case of vapor lock. there's air trapped in the radiatior when you filled it earlier. it could have resolved nung nagbago yung level ng kotse paakyat sa parking.
check your radiator/overflow reservoir levels kung nagbawas. if so, refill again. do this while the engine is cold ha, before starting in the morning.
kung a/t, i would also suggest you check the transmission fluid levels, or have honda change the fluid entirely, if you haven't done so already. old fluid may heat up faster while stressed with pressure, sending a false temp reading to the sensors (a/t fluid is cooled by the rad din kasi).

April 16th, 2009 12:08 PM #4thanks for the advises....found the culprit...the auxiliary fan of the a/c stopped running yesterday...though the temperature did not rise...i had it replaced...probably when i went to megamall the engine was stressed because of the incline and the heat....thanks again....
