December 2nd, 2009 03:32 PM #1I need help please. My car is CR-V 2003 with about 46Tkm, mostly city use. During the 70Tkm check-up sa casa yesterday, the service advisor said that my radiator fan motor needs urgent replacement. If I don't replace it, he said that my car might overheat when idling in traffic with the aircon on. I did not have it done yet kasi sobrang mahal. More than P9,000 daw parts and labor sabi ng service advisor.
I have not seen any problems such as temperature rising or any erratic behavior. I opened the hood this morning after driving for 30 minutes to the office, and the center radiator fan turns off and on every few minutes when I checked it at idling with aircon off.
How will I know if the radiator fan really needs replacing, as what the Honda service advisor is saying? If yes, where do you guys suggest I have it replaced (QC area)?

So far di pa naman ako overheat at palaging nasa bandang gitna yung temperature reading kahit may aircon.
Hindi ba off and on lang ito (with a thermal sensor somewhere)? Para ba siyang home electric fan na may 3 speeds (or more)?

December 3rd, 2009 01:14 PM #5Since it's 2003 model already and the service advisor said that your radiator fan motor needs urgent replacement and didn't told U the reason. My brotherly advise is to bring it to SERVITEK. Since More than P9,000 daw parts and labor sabi ng service advisor, as a technical person in automotive technology, it's too costly. U bring it to SERVITEK, let them check the said problem. And if it's confirmed, U buy the parts needed * reliable ordinary auto supply and let them install it.

December 3rd, 2009 01:17 PM #6Since Sa Honda Pasig dito sa C5 ka nagpa-service I presumed U just live near hereat Marcos Hway Marikina, there's SERVITEK service center. And have your vehicle be check-up of the said problem.

MY REPLY :
A. 1 speed lang po ang fan motor. Hindi po sya like the home electric fan with multiple speed. Yes po with a thermal / thermistor sensor.
B. If U'll buy in a reliable ordinary auto supply store, much more cheaper compared sa casa price. If the motor itself is only defective, yun lang pong electric motor ang dapat palitan. The original fan blades will be reinstalled.
A reminder, the motor must be same in specs, appearance & size para po isasalpak na lamang NO MORE adaptation.

December 11th, 2009 09:14 AM #8Thank you for your suggestions, and here is the final result.
Pina-check na namin sa T. Morato shops. Ayaw na nilang galawin kasi mabuti na daw na original Honda yung radiator fan motor. Di nila suggested na replacement or surplus motor.

My car's radiator fan is up for replacement, hindi na sya umaandar, and pag nag on ang AC, hindi nadin sya
Sumasabay, buti naiuwi ko pa and hindi nag overheat, opened the hood and grabe ang init sa engine bay.
Would any tsikoteer knows where i could an original radiator fan motor?
Searched further sa net, i found out na denso yung radiAtor fan motor,
Called up casa and quoted me a staggering 11k oem radiator fan motor.
Ganun ba talaga kamahal yun?
My car is a honda jazz gd.
Baka may alam kayo guys.

My Ford SYNC just updated itself. Anyone here knows what was updated?
