Sori mga bosign pero question ulit.

What's the worst thing that could happen if you have an R134A air con pero what they replaced it with is an R12?

The reason I'm asking is because, whenever I get my a/c serviced and refilled, I never check what they're filling it with (ngayon ko lang kasi nalaman na may R12 at R134A, thank you very much sa sobrang informative na Tsikot forums), so medyo concern ngayon ako if I'm suppose to get it drained and checked, haaay possible na gastos ulit

Stuck up compressor mo Albert, that's what could happen and will happen. As I have said, the two refrigerants uses different oil/lubrication. If they put R12 in an R134a system, the PAG oil of R134a will not mix with the R12. Therefore, the lubrication will not move around the system causing the compressor to starve of lubrication at times. Parang pinaghalo mo tubig at langis. If you think they charged the wrong refrigerant, remove the refrigerant used, drain the oil and I recommend you flush the system, put new PAG oil, replace the drier, vacuum and charge with R134a again.

Aaah well it doesn't seem to be getting stucked up naman. Malamig din naman. Any other symptoms that I should watch out for? Thanks Zeagle. This is really enlightening.

If you hear unusual noise or loose cooling, stop using the aircon and have it checked immediately.

Will they be able to tell if your car has an R12 or R134A system just by ocular inspection?

If they have gas analyzers they will be able to tell.

guys, i dont know if we had this kind of stuff here (see URL), but it's being use on R12 to R134a conversion. They'll just suck your R12 gas out and fill it up with this fluid and this will recondition your o-rings and gaskets. I've just read it on www.mdocuk.co.uk forums so i guess if you can check this url out?

yun samurai ko pinalitan ng R134 kasi wala ng mabili na r12 sa marikina area. drain nila yun oil and freon, vacuum then lagay r134. ok naman siya hanggang ngayon. one month na.

my a/c was converted by danny of danknee. aside from the oil and refrigerant change he also change the fittings for charging line of r134a refrigerant. according to danny this is the instruction of DENR to avoid confusion. however not all ac shop follow this.some shop just devise an adaptor to charge r134 to r12 fittings. yes there low quality r134 from china . the tank is only labelled "refrigerant" and no brand. make sure the disposable tank you are using is branded.

baka yan yong mga refrigerant na recycled...galing sa ibang appliance system na may kasamang moisture and oil kaya mura
