    Guys.....
    1) where to buy the cheapest evaporator for 05 city (original and replacement) and how much? (marikina area po me)
    2) some say replacements (evaporator) for the 05 city is not good...it would damage the compressor... how true?
    3) any of you guys with 05 city has already replaced their evaporator? any comment?

We've finished, just now as I type this, fixing an '05 City aircon. Part prices for the customer were:

    evaporator - 6000
    ex. valve - 1980
    drier - 1650

Compressor was still okay but it was quoted being at P 14,850.00

IMO...false. The only way the compressor can be damaged is:

    1. Refrigerant level is low or non-existent and the compressor is forced to engage by bypassing the thermoswitch (nakarekta). By default, the compressor automatically shuts down when the thermoswitch detects low refrigerant levels.

    2. When the compressor is not properly lubricated.

    3. When the aircon fan belt is tighter than it should be.

    4. When the compressor is doused with water during operation.

it will not do any damage as long as walang bara yung replacement evaporator.. also use a serpentine type evaporator para mas mabilis ang lamig ng aircon
