February 3rd, 2008 11:07 PM #12twink..trusted aircon shop nmn yung pinagpagawaan ko. bale kasi ganito nangyari nagpa-convert ako ng freon from R12 to R134a ( flush out lahat ) Dati sa R12 malamig kahit no.1 lng, eh sa R134a parang kapiraso n lng ung lamig.
Unknown to some, converting R-12 to R-134A in a system designed for R-12, will lose 5-10% of aircon capacity and causes high discharge pressure. http://www.sanden.com/support/retro.html
It will help to replace your condenser fan to a much bigger or higher RPM fan to lower down the discharge pressure and compensate for the decrease in capacity. Of course you will have to replace your expansion valve, filter drier and compressor oil to POE oil suited for R-134A.

Ganyan talaga ang R134a compared to R12. I had mine converted, kasi it's too costly to maintain the R12. At least for now ganun muna, so when I save up I can probably have it converted back to R12 and replace all bad lines and components (exp valve, evap, etc).
Also, dapat both refrigerants (R134a and R12) come from a metal pressurized canister, not the cheap ones na nabibili sa auto parts store (parang DIY). Yung high pressure na sinasabi ng tech mo can probably mean it's being compressed properly (hence the high pressure) where it's needed. You might want to invest on some low shade of tint to allow for better cooling pag tanghali. Other than that I think the last thing you can do is check kung tama yung amount of refrigerant na nilagay ng tech mo. I don't know what your car is or how much it needs but they should know. If it's lower than the recommended, siguradong mahina siya.

guys advice naman. i recently replaced my cefi's compressor. i didn't pull down the evap to clean but i replaced the drier. on my orig a/c, it could reach 4 degrees using a thermometer sa vent. now 6-7degrees na lang sya.
do i need to have the evap cleaned again? or flush the a/c system? please advise.
