Guys any idea on my townace 2cTurbo engine, ang problem is pag start ko after 3 to 5mins bigla na lang riseup ang temp gauge ko to full as in sa red mark na. Any comments mga masters dyan? thanks in advance.

check your sending unit wiring for insulation cuts and frays. the wiring is more than likely grounded similating overheat by the sending unit

check the back of the instrument cluster, the feed terminal might be grounded there

If after 3-5min your temperature gauge rise to the red line, try removing the wire from the temperature sensor, if it still on the red mark, then you have a shorted at the panel meter, but if it goes down, then you have an IVR (instrument voltage regulator) problem, which is located on the panel meter. Some panel meter have both temp gauge and fuel gauge connected on this IVR, but others have independent IVR.

check your sending unit, it might be grounded. to test, check the resistance/ countinuity between the sending unit body and the terminal. the reading should be infinite when at room temperature. or try a good known sending unit.

temperature gauge problem or overheat?
