June 12th, 2017 09:31 AM #31there is a proper procedure to find the reason for loss of cooling, po. it's pretty much de cajon.
perhaps that is what the aircon guy was suggesting.
replacing the compressor, if that is not the reason for in-ability to cool, is a useless and expensive proposition.
if you have a leak, why would you still have freon?
offhand... how's your expansion valve? your auxiliary fan?
is your engine overheating? some aircons shut down when the engine is overheating.
good luck.

yung aux fan ay gumagana pa. engine is not overheating BTW, puno pa yung laman ng radiator.
yung expansion valve, wala akong akong idea if may problem siya.
as for the compressor, it was suggested noong nagpalinis ako ng aircon (and eventually replaced the condenser) in December 2015 na palitan na (or repair) yung compressor due to ting-ting sound while the aircon is on. but at this moment ay wala na yung sound (hindi ko pa pinababa yung compressor even I went to the aircon shop last August 2016 to replace the radiator). but why it is useless if I replace the old one to a new one if that is the culprit of not cooling the aircon?

June 13th, 2017 07:49 AM #33because you still do not know if the compressor is indeed the culprit or not.
if your current compressor still works fine, contrary to what someone said earlier, replacing that compressor will set you back by 15K or so, and still will not cure your problem.
what you need, is for someone who will intelligently test your aircon, and finally and correctly conclude, "compressor, sir. palitan na natin".
errr... mura lang ang expansion valve, compared sa compressor. wanna start with replacing that first?
heh heh.

Yung unit ko na Mazda 323 1994 model, kaya lang lumamig aircon nun us when I replaced the condenser and evaporator ng laminated type.
Serpentine type kasi evaporator nyan and if 134 A na rin naka karga dyan hindi efficient ang cooling.

magkano ba yung expansion valve?
remember, I replaced yung condenser and the radiator on separate occasions because of budget constraints (one aircon shop told me na yung compressor ay may tunog na "ting-ting", so kahit wala na yung sound na yun ay gusto ko na ring ipatingnan if there are damages, and if these damages ay pwede pang maayos para makasave ako sa pera and iwas gastos sa pagbili ng bagong compressor)
I thought nasa 10k lang yung brand new compressor?

Yes 134 A is the standard nga as required by law.
1) Replaced bigger condenser fan with custom bracket and additional relays.
2) Replaced condenser with laminated type na aluminum along with expansion valve and filter.
3) Replaced evaporator with laminated type ng 13 rows along with expansion valve and filter.
Optional yung replacement ng expansion valve and filter... mas gusto ko lang talaga palitan agad yan evertime na nilalagyan nila ng solvent yung lines for cleaning

June 14th, 2017 05:26 PM #38Hi Guys,
Pa help naman po. Our car is Honda Civic AT 2006 model (we are based in Qatar) Yung AC pag una open ok naman tapos habang nag-ddrive may times na mag-bblow po siya ng hot air then after sometime babalik ulit ang lamig. Bakit po kaya nangyayari yun and ano po kaya ang cause?
Hope it is not serious one.
Thanks in advance.
Regards,
Mins
