Yung dati namin adventure was already 9 years old when we sold it. Aircon was cleaned every 3 years. Walang naging problem except blocked expansion valve (replaced once). Until it was sold maganda cooling ng aircon.

With regards to "welding" the evaporator, tama yung sinabi nila. It won't last kasi mag-sprung lang ng leak ulit dahil manipis na yung walls. I experieced it first hand nung pinahinang yung evaporator ng honda namin. 1 week nasa shop na ulit kasi may singaw na naman. Pinalitan din eventually yung evaporator.

Currently at Ceejay's. Replacement evaporator lang binili ko worth 1.5k sa rotary. Yung sa Ceejay's kasi nasa 5-7k yung branded nila.

Mejo Di ka na lugi sir sa 3 years Ang alam KO 4 years pataas bumigay na Ang evaporator eh... Saka pacheck mo muna kung may leak ba talaga Bago NLA palitan.

the range of prices between OEM and replacement, is big. also, take note of the model design.. e.g., laminar versus serpentine (for sentra).when my sentra's evaporator sprung a leak for the first time after 9 years, i opted for replacement. the model i (my driver, actually, whom i asked to have it repaired) got, was the cheaper one (2K yata), as against the much more expensive OEM. well... i wasn't happy with the result. bitin ang lamig.., at nag-yeyelo, despite full charge. finally, i brought it back and had the evap replaced with the much more expensive (by 4-5 times) oem. that brought the cooling back to factory spec.. apparently, the replacement evap wasn't up to stuff.. mis-matched aircon component...

also, replacement evap sometimes does not fit right into the space. this was the case with my innova's front evaporator. it was cheaper by 80%, but it was wider by less than 3 mm, and it simply did not fit into the space provided.. i had no choice but to get the oem..

Thanks sa mga nagreply. My first choice is laminar which is more expensive. Sabi nila mas maganda daw yun at mas matibay. Kaso walang stock kaya nag serpentine ako.

Yun nga ang problema sa mga replacement naka tatlong balik ako dahil hindi fit sa housing.

So far super malamig sya at first time ko lamigin ng nanginginig sa sasakyan. Feeling ko mas malamig ngayon kesa nung una kong nilabas sa casa yung sasakyan.

Sabi sakin ng Ceejay's balik daw ako after 1 week para sa follow up check up.

what i think is, you have no refrigerant at all, hot or cold weather. it is just that, the aircon seems cool when the weather is cool. but actually, the aircon is not cooling at all.

Yes this is the third time it happen to me. Twice ng binaba ang evaporator at expansion valve ginawan ng leak test walang makitang butas ibinalik kinargahan ng freon then good for 12 months. this last few days pag pasok mo sa loob ng sasakyan amoy mo ang freon sa loob. Ang parking space ko sa office walang shade. I'd check also the refrigerant tubes under the hood hindi sya malamig

IMHO, AFAIK, ang problem mo eh yung condenser fan mo, mukhang mahina na na nagcacause ng high pressure sa system at eventually bumibigay ang mga component (dugtungan) ng mga air mo. in your case, sa evaporator.

try reaplacing it with OEM surplus or brand new one, mga 1.5k to 3.5k lang naman iyun.

by the way, anong kotse ho ba itong pinaguusapan natin. kasi iba iba characteristic ng bawat compressor ng kotse lalo na ang failsafe mechanism nito.

expansion valve nasa labas, tsaka kung may leak - hindi na lalamig yan.

ung amoy ammonia, due to build up ng mold/yeast sa evap due to presence of alcohol within your cabin space.
nakukuha ito kung matapang ka mag pabango bago sumakay ng kotse at ung alcohol content ng perfume, ay humahalo sa hangin plus condensate, ayun, yeast.

amoy maasim na hindi mo malaman.

simple to treat, ibukas mo airvent, ibilad mo sa araw.

paggamit mo ulit, iblower muna, then on AC, pagpark sa bahay, antayin mawala lamig ng AC.

Mga sir.. Good day.. Sa akin mahina ang aircon kagabi hanggang ngaun.. Sa driver seat lang ang lumalamig at sa iba, hangin lang. May naririnig din akong parang sumisingaw sa passenger seat dashboard. Ang history daw ay may butas ang evaporator, pinawelding. Kala ko ok na. So is it time to install this new evaporator?? Paki tingin po nung image, ano po ang masasabi ninyo?
