Godbless.

Wala, naka baba ang compressor diba? So ang gagana dyan blower lang and/or condenser fan. I see no harm happening.

my fear is, since the compressor is already out, the fan belt powering that compressor pulley isn't going to do anything else. i'm not familiar with the xl, but i hope the alternator is powered by another belt..
btw, i read sometime back, that some compressors can be rebuilt, but they won't perform as good or as long as original.
is it worth having them rebuilt?

Yung compressor ng Sentra namin, repair lang din since wala pang budget to buy a brand new or kahit surplus.

compressor.. freon.. evaporator coil.. auxiliary fan.. metal tubing! they all have their roles to perform, and if any one of them fail to do so, we all get hot under the collar.
but the compressor is the most visible and most expensive of the bunch..

In the long run, you will spend more if you opt for multiple repairs of those items, not to mention the time you spent on it. Getting a new one is always better.

My compressor on my 13 year old car was about to give up, I think, when I went to my trusted shop, the cost of repair would amount to around 4 to 5k, same as a suplus, a reconditioned would cost around 10k, and brand new was 16k. I went for the brand new, at least nothing to worry for the next 10years or so. You will always get what you pay for.
