Kia Philippines has launched the 5th-generation Sportage in the Philippines, re-introducing the compact SUV exclusively with a turbocharged hybrid powertrain.
The all-new Sportage arrives with updated styling, electrified performance, and an expanded list of technology and safety features.
The new Sportage adopts Kia’s latest “Opposites United” design language, featuring the brand’s signature Tiger Nose grille flanked by Star-Map LED headlights and projector fog lamps. Standard across the lineup are 18-inch alloy wheels, while the rear is equipped with a Smart Power Tailgate.
Power comes from a 1.6-liter turbocharged gasoline engine paired with a 1.49-kWh lithium-ion battery and hybrid system. Kia says the powertrain produces a combined 235 hp and 367 Nm of torque, offering improved performance and efficiency over previous generations.
Inside, the Sportage is equipped with a 12.3-inch infotainment display with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, wireless smartphone charging, and leather seats. Audio is provided by either a six-speaker sound system or an eight-speaker Harman Kardon setup, depending on the variant.
Safety features across the lineup include six airbags, cruise control, and a Tire Pressure Monitoring System. The flagship SX adds Kia DriveWise driver assistance technologies, including Forward Collision Avoidance Assist, Autonomous Emergency Braking, Smart Cruise Control, Lane Keep Assist, and Blind Spot Collision Avoidance Assist.
Prices start at ₱1,978,000 for the EX variant, while the range-topping SX is priced from ₱2,098,000.
Buyers can choose from four exterior colors: Heritage Blue, Wolf Grey, Snow White Pearl, and Gravity Grey, although the EX variant is available only in Wolf Grey, Snow White Pearl, and Gravity Grey. The SX can also be specified with an optional two-tone interior for ₱2,128,000.
The new Sportage is backed by Kia’s 5-year or 160,000-kilometer vehicle warranty, along with an 8-year or 160,000-kilometer battery warranty.
