Ako madalas may mga prints sa sidemirror and glass cleaners do the trick, no sweat.

Pour a drop or two of Joy on a damp cloth and scrub it off. Wipe it clean with the clean damp cloth.

if your rear view mirror is original glass, then it should be easy to clean using ordinary jabon con agua y vasahan.. but if the fingerprint came from a finger tainted with paint or vulcaseal, try a good solvent like paint thinner or kerosene. gasoline is effective, but i can NOT recommend it because of its flammability.

now, if your rear view mirror is an aftermarket clip-on borloloy that is not really made of glass but of plastic made to look like glass, i can only suggest soap and water. stronger solvents may dissolve the surface. (but hey! borloloys are cheap, just buy another one.)

i see the picture.
ganito na lang: get a small knife and see if you can scrap it off. if you can not scrape it off, that means it's coming from the other side of the glass, the one with reflective coating.
that also means, it's hopeless.
just buy a replacement mirror or get an aftermarket clip-on (which i find more convenient, anyway).
