Do you have a Sakbayan? I suppose it won't be difficult to restore one since it's made of flat surfaces. But it also depends on the type: Australian sourced (Kombi suspension), German sourced (Type 181 suspension), and Brazil sourced (Beetle suspension). http://www.geocities.com/motorcity/6302/vwhist.htm
The Brazil sourced Sakbayan (easily identified by its lower ground clearance) should be the easiest to restore. There was a Sakbayan in the classified ads (www.buyandsellph.com) last year and the asking price was 100,000 pesos.
^This is not the original appearance. The sides were cut to make entry / exit easier. A bad idea. Compromises the structural rigidity and lessens the ability to go through deep floods. Sayang. A rare Country Buggy pa naman (Australian sourced).

Which would you rather have: an owner type jeep, a Sakbayan, or a Type 181? Maybe this should be made into a poll in the car comparisons section. Include Mini Moke and Humbug / Wombat.
"Kubelwagen" is the name of the WWII military vehicle.
A fabricator who is already making a Humvee replica should consider the Humbug / Wombat (small Humvee look-alike based on the Beetle platform) so there will be a "family resemblance".
The VW Type 181 has always been included in the list of cars that I'd like to own. Would I buy a locally made replica? Maybe. I like Sakbayans too particularly the German sourced kind. But if I were to choose only one, I pick the Mini Moke.
