What is the Function of the new 'Thanks' Button?

What this hack do:

One of the major problems on forums as one may observe is 'post boosting'. There are users who have the tendency to say 'thanks' when ever they can.

How can it hurt? Their post count goes up, they have nothing to lose.

There are also users who really like to express their thanks but don't like to post on the fear that they might appear to be 'post boosting'.

Then comes moderators who may have to delete members' 'thanks you's' so a thread can look readable with out the numerous 'thank you's' thrown around.

Finally comes the posters of these useful posts. They have no idea how many people really like and appreciate their posts.

What this hack does is fix ALL these problems by having a new 'Thanks' button. When a user clicks on it, it places his username in a box right under the post saying that so-and-so says 'thanks' for the post. Everyone who clicks is placed in one box.

Hope this clears the mystery behind the 'Thanks' button.

It should be beside the "Quick Reply to this Message" button located at the lower right of the frame. Your screenshot didn't seem to show the right side of your screen, it should also have some other frames like for some Ads, >>Tsikot.com Portal, >>CarShow Philippines, PinoyHandyman, Auto Threads, etc.

so if you get to see it, don't forget to use that button to me

and oh BTW, you would not see that button on your own reply frame for you can't send thanks for yourself

HAHAHA! Yes, I'd gladly send thanks your way. Problem is, wala po talaga. On the right side of the page for me is white space. Meron po yung mga boxes (ads, announcements, carshow, handyman, traffic, etc.) pero no buttons.

I suspected that it was firefox, so i fired up IE pero ganun din . I'm thinking baka new members need to reach a certain number of posts for it to appear (tama po ba admins?)

Not really a problem pero would be nice to have the ability to thank people for their help.
