    laoag to claveria is 3 hrs.; claveria to tuguegarao 3 hrs.;

    tuguegarao to Piat nasa 1 hr. yata. hindi pa ko nakapunta ng Piat eh

    at first, ayaw ko nga maniwala na malayo...

    based sa mga ka-text ko, malayo nga. with children in tow, next time na lang seguro.. sadya talaga..

    and it seems, walang dumadaan na bus using laoag, sarrat -- up to rizal, then 3 more towns before Piat, no bus = lonely planet.

    sa map kasi ito ang shortest route, than go half circle up north

    but that is going north, half circle, hence malayo nga..

    wala pa bang naka-daan, from laoag passing sarrat eastward, para malapit? dunno about the terrain, no idea, that's why am asking

    ^^hindi pa ako nakadaan dyan. central mountains ang nagdidivide sa west at east side ng northern luzon so mabundok and terrain dyan. sa bus route ka na lang para mas sigurado at safe.

    if side trip malayo talaga kasi balik ka pa ulit Laoag/Pagudpud nun...why not take that route going back to Manila, at least di ka na babalik sa Ilocos, plus dami pwedeng mapuntahan from that route.

    left saud beach at 8am, bound for piat. the plan was take bus route/region 2 in our return trip to manila.

    rainy day! zigzag here and there, and no incoming traffic, except for a few trycicles..

    no incoming traffic? a road less travelled perhaps? almost at the end of patapat viaduct -- came the answer..

    saw a road sign, warning 1 lane ahead.. and saw a long line of SUV, Bus, PUJ.

    I got off, took an umbrella with me, saw dpwh men at work, I tried asking in tagalog the reply came in ilocano.. oh no..

    in short, I estimated the job, won't be done in 2 hours time, so we turned back, and headed for laoag for lunch.

    perhaps a dedicated trip to piat is in order first, sidetrips to follow later.
