10 years na since my last trip to Baguio, forgot already all the route,

what is the best way/route drive to Baguio? how many hours kaya? Baka may taga Baguio, pls give a detail route, I will drive myself with family lang kasi,

also where is the best place to stay? meron pa sa Camp John Hay? (yung sa loob na cabin or apartment). How much kaya? and what is the most comfortable alternative place to stay?

what to do & what to eat? hehe, just want a last bonding trip with kids before the opening of school,

It depends. If it rains hard or may bagyo, don't take Kennon road. If it is sunny, then take Kenno rd. It's nearer by at least 30 mins compared to Marcos Highway. The time it takes to go to Baguio depends on your speed. Average of 80 to 100kph will get you in probably 4 to 6 hours time, depends also on duration of your stop overs.

Best place to stay is definitely Camp John Hay Manors. I think it is around P4,500 per day. For mid budget, I suggest you stay in Hotel Veniz(P2,000/day++). It is situated near Session road and Abanao rd.

Staying in Hotel Veniz has some pros and cons:

PROS:
- Near market where you can buy vegetables, and pasalubongs for your friends.
- Near Session Rd. where lots of restos abound and it is walking distance to SM Baguio.
- Near Church. it is also walking distance to Baguio Cathedral
- It has wifi connection 24/7.
- Parking slot in the basement. you wont need to look for any parking space when you are going to church, market, grocery, restaurants etc. all walking distance.
- Nice cozy place and very accessible. Good service
- It is located at the heart of baguio, meaning you are just a stone's throw away from Burnham park where you can easily walk, jog or ride bicycle for your daily exercise or perhaps ride a boat for a fun filled day.
- Daily breakfast and buffets are offered in their cafe and restaurant at an affordable price.

CONS:
- You are located in a highly urbanized and congested area.
- Interior rooms have no window views. You can probably get a corner room with view of Baguio.
- You need to bring your laptop somewhere near their (lounge) where their WIFI routers are located.
- No natural view and feel of Baguio. No natural scent of Pine trees either.
- Strictly no smoking inside rooms. No cooking either.
- Noise and smoke pollution.
- You would probably go out more than staying inside the hotel resting since the place is very near malls, clubs, restaurants, etc.
- The Hotel isn't conducive to rest and feel of Baguio. It is like you are still living in Metro Manila--traffic, pollution, noise, street vendors, beggars, buildings everywhere.
- All rooms are airconditioned. You'll not feel Baguio's freezing weather even if would like to. Windows are isolated and closed.

3.what to do & what to eat?
Rest and have a good time. Visit the following places:

Session rd - just stroll and feel the warmth of Baguio. Eat at Don Henrico's or if you want instant breakfast, lunch or dinner, take Jolibee, McDo or Chowking.

Grotto - around 300+ steps leading to the grotto of virgin mary. It is a nice place to solemnly pray.

Strawberry fields of La Trinidad - It where fresh strawberries are harvested. You can buy freshly picked strawberries or even pick them by yourself.

Baguio Market - the best place to buy fresh produce of Baguio. Also the best place to buy your pasalubongs and souvenir stuff. This place is a must.

Burnham Park - stroll in the park, smell the pine trees, walk or jog. take a boat ride. Rent a bike for P25/hour.

Baguio Cathedral - 200+ steps. the church of all churches in Baguio. Your stay in Baguio wouldn't be complete without the visit to this cathedral. Overlooking Session rd and SM Baguio.

SM Baguio - biggest mall in town

Barrio Fiesta stairs - there is nothing really special about this place except that it has many stairs, big statues and a restaurant that caters Filipino food.

Pacdal church - a good alternative to hear mass if you're a catholic. it is beside wright park.

Wright park - nice sorroundings but a bit overcrowded when it's summer time. It is where you bring your kids for a horse back riding. It is near The Mansion House.

The Mansion-The house that was built for the royalties. The name speaks for itself.

Botanical Garden - place where flowers abound. cool plants too and nice view. Beware of the iggorots. Do not take their pictures as they will charge you for it. Anyway, if you do like to get a picture with them for a fee, then go ahead.

Mines View Park - nice view of baguio, although it is pretty much saturated already. it is where you buy souvenirs, plants, etc.

Good Shepperd - i suggest you visit this place and order their ube jam, strawberry jam, cashew brittle, peanut brittle. Also try their hot brewed coffee and cheese pandesal or stuffed adobo pandesal. This is a place you shouldn't miss.

Camp John Hay - nice place to tour around, plush greens, tall pine trees, golf courses, first class amenities, former camp. It is where the Creek is located where you can buy PX stuff, dine and wine. CJH Manor House is also located here.

PMA - 30 to 45 mins away from the bustling city of Baguio. The kids would love to see the tanks, air planes, cannons and artillery collection of the AFP. The kids will also see marching soldiers of our PMA.

....and please do not forget to buy a Baguio Map when you go there. It is much easier to circumnavigate Baguio.
