guys, doing a survey. my job occasionally requires me to go out the office. we're allowed to use taxis within metro manila and there's a list of areas and the corresponding budgets for transport allowance.

occasionally, we have to go out of town. the current practice is to hire a car and driver, and the cost is outrageous (to me). being used to being a motorist even on provincial roads, i want to suggest that we be allowed to use our vehicles for these out of town trips and we be allowed to charge mileage, but don't know how much to suggest.

does your company have a similar policy? i heard P12 / km was an indicative rate. thanks in advance!

our company reimburses at US$0.30/km. so that P12/km is just about the same at the current exchange rate of P40.70/1USD (P12.21/km).

12.00/km sounds reasonable.. so a full tank of say 300 to 350kms would be about 3,600 to 4,200.

tama lang din iyon kasi factor in mo din iyong wear and tear ng sasakyan. di lang naman gasolina ang nauubos doon.

    Our company uses this formula:

Cost of premium gasoline / 10 kilometers x no. of kilometers x 140% (for the depreciation).

By the way, this formula applies to employees using their car plan. For employees who have no or not entitled to car plan, they can either rent or commute and charge for the actual. There's no policy if they use their own cars.

Babaan mo mileage para tumubo ka pa.

Using own car for office trips, how much to charge for mileage?
