April 26th, 2014 11:17 PM #1Hi guys!
I'm so excited. I am one of a few people chosen by our company to go to the US for training, for 2 and a half months, and I was the chosen DRIVER!
Salamat in advance!

Stop means stop.
Follow right of way rules all the time. Hindi porke nauna ka e ikaw ang may right of way. As in any country (and that includes the Philippines) right of way means "who owns the lane" and not whose bumper is in front. So a car on the lane may be 20 meters behind but you can not just cut in front.
When merging in a freeway make sure you have the same speed as the vehicles in the lane you are merging into. Pag babagal-bagal ka mag merge sa freeway aararuhin ka ng mga 18 wheeler, or you may be the cause of a multiple pile up. So kung 65mph ang speed sa freeway merge at 65mph and not 40 mph.
On a green light and you want to turn left you need to YIELD. That means you make sure there is a safe distance from oncoming vehicles before you make your left turn. They will not slow down for you, you are the one who must wait until it is safe.
Use your signal lights.
OBSERVE THE LIMIT LINE! That white line before the pedestrian lane is called the limit line. It is not just a traffic violation, it is a criminal offence because you endanger the life of pedestrians crossing on the pedestrian lane.

-strictly follow the speed limits.
-pag sa intersection at may "stop" sign, full stop ka, & not a "moving" stop.

April 27th, 2014 04:03 AM #61. Wag po kalimutan ang driver's license. No need for IDL.
Wisconsin DMV Official Government Site - Driving in Wisconsin with a foreign driver's license
2. Alamin mabuti ang mga road signs.
5. Ang klima po sa Wisconsin ay malamig kumpara sa ibang State pero May to August po ay mainit.

:naughty2:
In my limited experience,- controlled but aggressive driving diyan.....
STRICTLY FOLLOW THE PRESCRIBED SPEED LIMIT,- but generally,- follow the flow of the traffic,- else, puwede kang "obstruction of traffic"...
Pag red na,- stop,- do not attempt to beat the red light,- if you do,- at kumuha na ang camera (o nag-flash)- ngumiti ka para pogi ka sa picture....
Tapos, city traffic/driving,- parang pagda-drive sa Subic... with careful note on a four-way-stop... isa-isa lang.... Generally,- you cannot use the house's driveway for making turns...
Pedestrians are number one on the road... Poporma pa lang sila,- pumepreno ka na... School buses and ambulances, too...
Don't be on the wrong side of the law,- bubungguin ka nila sigurado.
Huwag gagamit ng busina,- mapapaaway ka.....
DON'T DRINK AND DRIVE!!!
Don't do it against the (law) wall or against the air,- pag napapa-jingle,- hanap ka ng toilet sa mga rest areas ng hiway/freeway....

Reminds me on my first time to drive in New England, It was a 2 lane country road and driving all by my lonesome, close window with loud stereo blasting trying to fight off jet lag. I was driving for about 25 minutes and that stretch road was all mine as in wala akong nakakasalubong o nasalikod to overtake me. Then from no where, i saw blinkers from the rear view mirror which is still from a distance to me. Una blinkers lang until their nearing me as i now hear the siren, fire truck pala. As i was still having my Pinas driving mentality, i never pulled over or gave way since the other lane is free at dalawa lang kami sa kalye. I guess the firetruck driver realize i was not giving way, he over took me and gave me a long loud horn with a little push that force me to drop my right wheels into the road side dirt.
That surely got my jet lag away and when i reached my destination and told my American friends about it, they were laughing at me.
