Saan ba magaganda places to do camping? Ano ba mga national parks natin that are family friendly where you could pitch a tent for the night?

I was looking at the Makiling area and will post here some details soon.

Anawangin. Try also Potipot Island in Zambales. Crystal Beach also has camping facilities...

The Boy Scouts of my son's school recently camped at I&E Training and Teambuilding in Batangas City. You could ask them because we set up camp in the paintball area but there are lots of empty spaces. They have lots of well-equipped showers so it's not exactly roughing it

Anawangin ka. Nice place for campng. Kaso be prepared sa dami ng tao. Also bring lots of water.

Nauuso ito sa rizal area. Kaso yung iba kalokohan na price 1thou tapos meron 2-3thou anong kagaguhan yan eh trapal lona materyales pepresyuhan ng ganyan sa 24hours stay!!!!

Ang tamang presyo sa normal size tent good for dalawang tao = 250 pesos. Meron common c.r dapat at source ng water like bukal.

Lona trapal materyales kaya wag magpresyo like motel na may sariling c.r, tv, kama, table, chair, aircon.

Kasi doc kung basic tent lang pang 250 presyo nyan kasi they provide the tent at small space ng area the size ng tent thats it. Tapos common toilet at source ng water.

Pero kung glamping na maayos ibang usapan.

I've gone to Lake Mapanuepe in San Marcelino, Zambales about 2 weeks ago. NLEX > SCTEX > Subic, easy going until San Marcelino town in Zambales,

Turn right in San Marcelino public market, around 2-3KM siguro there will be a LGU checkpoint to pay the environmental fee. You may also hire a trail guide there, I did.

Soft roaders and even sedans can go there as long as the lahar is dry.

No signal there but there is a Starlink connection you can pay to use (kaya ka nga nag camping para lumayo....)

Sari-sari stores are available pero costly. Buy your stuff at San Marcelino or where you came from.

Came home from Lake Tabeyo in Kabayan, Benguet yesterday.

Lunch at Baguio, then headed for Benguet-Nueva Vizcaya Road, turning left at the fork to Gurel-Bokod-Kabayan-Buguias-Abatan Road. Then right at Ballay, diretso na yun sa campsite. You can use Waze.

May mga kasabay pa ako until the Bokod fork, after I turned left road less travelled na talaga. Scary but the views were stunning. Fallen rocks are aplenty.

It was very windy at night. 2260MASL, the lake is under Mt. Pulag National Park. Temp registered 13C pero wala pang wind chill yun, I estimate at 9C. No signal.

I planned to go back via the roads where I came from kasi I wanted to take pictures, pero two cars decided to go to the new highest point in Tinoc, Ifugao.

The back roads going there are even more dangerous and unmaintained. One lane lang most of the way.

Got down Baguio via Halsema. Still the most dangerous road in PH I think. Malalaman mo talaga kung sino sanay mag drive sa highlands, simple rule lang na given courtesy lagi sa mga paakyat.

Power nap lang sa biglang liko, then got to Manila na.

Vehicles with a high ground clearance are highly recommended. I scraped the underside of the Navara going to Tinoc several times. 4x2 can do it, just pick your spots.

Trip meter registered 750KMs, full tank method is 11KPL - marami nang hataw yun, and uphill for days. Not bad considering one of my injectors are likely defective lol.

Nasa Bocaue na ako when the fuel light registered 1 bar remaining and still have 40KMs to go, Got home naman without incident.

Filled up at Manila full tank on automatic mode. I thought 80L yung capacity pero when I filled up again, 68L lang ang kinarga?

At least sa Coto pwede ka maligo, sa Manuepe bawal maligo sa lake.
Sa Coto Kidz dun kalang sa gilid kung dika expert swimmer. Malakas ang undercurrent sa upstream na medyo malalim. Mas maganda yang Coto KidzPool nung operational pa Coto mines. Ngayon pangit nayung road although passable naman kahit kotse at wala naring kuryente sa lugar.

is your Navara stock o yung mga naka-overland set-up?

Bone stock NP300 EL lang but it is fitted with Bridgestone Dueler 697 A/T tires. It has a lower ground clearance to other pickups, and di maganda yung approach angle.

I was skidding pa during high-speed corners kasi unladen yung likod, plus open diff lang and walang traction control. Nagbawas na lang ako tire pressure.

I don't want to mod it kasi yun ginagamit namin pang kargahan now. If i decide to do more overlanding trips kailangan ko ng beater 4x4. that should be good for a new thread?

Funny thing is undecided ako kung saan pupunta when I left the house. I tried calling the Ballay Ranger Station at 6AM pero walang sumasagot.

I stopped by Shell Balagtas to have breakfast and I thought sa Coto Mines na lang ako punta. Pero I tried calling the ranger station again and mabuti sinagot ako ng park ranger.

OK lang daw na pumunta ako kahit without reservation kasi onti lang mga nag camp that time, kaya natuloy ako ng Lake Tabeyo

Sa Lake Mapaneuepe there's a huge sign na bawal maligo sa lake, pero I asked the camp keeper and pwede naman according to her pero sobrang lalim daw kasi.

Sa Lake Tabeyo pwede rin daw if you can handle the cold... Not sure I haven't tried both.
